For me it’s just the Custom Games Area. Now, that being said We could eliminate 1/3 of all of these issues people have posted on these forums if we had our OWN DEDICATED SERVER SOFTWARE AND A CUSTOM GAME BROWSER AND THAT’S A FACT! 
Eliminate a third of all the problems players have with a custom game browser and dedicated servers?
Well we already have dedicated servers and I don’t see a sixth of the issues disappearing.
Really??? Where is the dedicated server software that you say we have. I have not seen any Dedicated Server Software anywhere! Show me a link where I can find that Dedicated Server Software and the software for the Custom Game Browser! I really want to know!! 
If you think we’re playing on peer-to-peer connections in Infinite, you’re a bit behind the curve my guy.
I never made any mention of a custom game browser.

In game, every game you play is on a dedicated server.
Matchmade or custom, it goes through a dedicated server.
I believe he’s referencing user-operated dedicated servers. Something like you’d have found in most PC games from the early 2000s.

BTW the In game wannabe software sucks big time. 98% of the time you can not connect to those damn Microsoft Azure Game Servers Fact when you modify your custom game mode!
That is why we need our own dedicated server software!

Honestly, seeing as the net code is most likely the culprit for the issues in online matches, 3rd party/independent servers aren’t going to do much to alleviate the issue of its hard baked into the code.
They also featured far more robust and complete custom games settings than Infinite has so far. Short of better user control and options, most CG’s are going to pretty similar. A CGB will be a nice feature in time, but it’s hardly a game saving move when the issues players are having extend far deeper than simply quality of life improvements.
What part of “OUR OWN DEDICATED SERVER SOFTWARE” do you not understand? 
@HozerDude I think the term you’re looking for is what the BF community calls a ‘server browser’, not ‘dedicated server software’.
Dedicated servers are any time a MP game does not host the game on one of the players local hardware. Server browsers are when there is an ability to set your own mode/map/settings configurations and then allow other players to join that set of games.

I feel like you don’t understand what the term “dedicated server software” means in the context of modern gaming infrastructure. Saying it over and over again won’t help, I believe it’s the wrong term (and as i stated, I believe you’re looking for something like BF’s server browser and it’s supporting infrastructure)
Custom games (if they functioned properly) allow you to configure custom settings, set the map, and set the mode. The server that spins up for players to play on is a dedicated server hosted at an MS data center.
Or you can run a second xbox on a local LAN network as it’s own dedicated server. Not sure what you’re wanting that you can’t cover with those two (once custom games aren’t super buggy)

Ran a Halo Combat Evolved Server for 7 Years. ( Including Halo 2 Halo 2A Halo CE. My Server Name Was >>>> “Rocket Whores World CTF Server!” On my own computer.

I ran a Battlefield 3 and 4 Server for 4 years. ( Paid $40 a month for a 32 User Game Server! )

I run a Battlefield 2042 Server ( $50 bux a month for 32 user server )
What Do you get with Dedicated Server Software??
( some of the following below were mods for Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 2A and Halo CE )
- You have your own Control Panel.
- You have a Welcome Screen
- You have a Ban List
- You can Permanently Ban Morons and Kick Morons off your server!
- You have a friends list.
- You have a Server Rules Screen
- You have a out of game control panel. So you can send messages to a spacific users and see what going on you server without having to be in the game.
And lots more. I setup my servers any way I damn well please! Thank you!

Well all I’m deducing here is that you want something relatively niche/minimally impactful added and will say anything to fluff it up or make it sound worthwhile in the short term without much actual support data/reasoning/detail that you’re claiming.
Seeing as you’re unwilling to back your claims up a few responses in and are actively avoiding specific inquiries into your own statements only supports my argument further.
It’s not a bad idea for a delayed long term addition (at least based on MCC’s CGB in that regard), but your sales pitch for it being necessary now is flawed at best.
