Imagine if 343 actually addressed all complaints

“Attention fans, we apologize this isn’t a Halo 3 remake with new maps, we apologize for putting in social gametypes, we apologize for not putting in social gametypes. We apologize lag exists on Halo and only Halo, we apologize for giving you free DLC in exchange for optional microtransactions. We apologize for banning just you for quitting and no one else. We apologize for taking more time than you’d like to deliver gametypes you want. We apologize for putting comedic skins in the game, we apologize for not being Bungie. We apologize there aren’t enough people in New Zealand, regret, regret, regret”

Well they’ve apologized few times Before I ain’t holding my breath over it their apologies about it all just add flame to the already burning the house that doesn’t seem to be going out anytime soon.

“We regret being 343, we regret taking over halo, and we most definetley regret that the fans just hated our raggedy -Yoink- game!”

hahaaaaah I was waiting for this, nice reference no sarcasm

Man, reading that was cringe-worthy…

If you think all the complaints are because the game “isn’t like Halo 3” then you have trouble reading, because the people that want a Halo 3 clone are few and far between. The people that want an actually finished and working game, however…

True but I’m on both side

They’ve got deadlines to meet, and Bungie had other studios making maps etc for them. They’re clearly working to add gametypes, it’s not their fault microsoft gave them a deadline and they worked with it

if all the complaints were fixed…everyone would still be crying.

“er maaa gurrrrd, plz make it that I’m invincible and I can one shot everything.”

We can only dream.

a back handed apology that deferres blame and responsibility while also not committing and outlining fixes to the complaints made.

That’s a 343i apology through and through.

So MCC is still busted and Halo 5 still hasn’t had a new gametypes or map that wasn’t forged or remixed. But at least we have satirical apologies from fans.

When the game does have all the maps and content we want people will still complain, its the unfortunate nature of life.

meh, not everyone can be so upset all. the time, I’d rather just be patient and wait for the gametypes to be done right instead of copy/pastes

Certain Affinity has been helping create maps and Forge improvements since the Defiant Map Pack in Halo Reach.

Any other job, if you don’t meet a deadline for a project, you get fired. Simple. I’m not saying I want anyone at 343 fired (many people do), but I think they got lazy or thought they could release content that should have been there from the start over time to keep people coming back.

Microsoft gave Bungie deadlines too and they met expectations and surpassed them. Any problems people had with the game were because of balance or game mechanics direction, like Armor Lock or Armor Abilities in general, but the content was always there in full from the start, no matter what had happened behind the scenes with development. Halo 2 was a serious crunch for time and resources and while a lot was cut, they still managed to pull through. With Halo 3, they knew they were making a sequel so they had plenty of time. Halo ODST was a forced side project. It wasn’t meant to be a full game, hence no multiplayer, but Firefight was a revolutionary alternative. And Reach was the end-all game for Bungie, combining every possible area of content from maps to Forge to Firefight to Campaign, Customization, and gametypes. Even though really they never planned to continue making Halo after 3. It was a forced contract thing. They didn’t want to do it but they sucked it up and made the most of it. 343 is supposed to “want” to pick up the mantle. They announced a new trilogy, so they knew they were making Halo 5 after Halo 4. And yet, somehow, they still couldn’t manage to finish the game.

That’s why I’m starting to think this is all just a ploy to extend the life of the game cheaply by putting things “in” little by little. That and microtransactions.

Nope…they move on to better games instead

Why would they remove everything people complain about? No one has ever said they wanted no main menu, no campaign, no vehicles, no weapons, no maps, or anything of the sort? I’m pretty sure people complain so things are fixed or corrected, not removed.

A fair point, and you’re entitled to your opinion. Alls I’m trying to say is the Halo community as a whole cannot be pleased. I’m no 343 fanboy I just think someone ought to cut them some slack. If thousands of people were yelling at you to do a thousand different things you’d get pretty flustered and unproductive too. They’re gonna add new maps and gametypes people want, and the community will still hate the game for one reason or another

Coming from someone I’ve seen crying about grifball changes from past games, this is a rich post.

Best paraphrase ever.

RIP Johnson.

Where have I cried about changes for a gametype that hasn’t even be released yet? Because I have not played it yet and I don’t know what changes are even changes yet.

I recall saying they should have both versions in matchmaking, but I don’t support the notion of there only being one, and that one being akin to the older games. I’m interested to see how the new mobility plays into Grifball, in fact.
