I’ve bee writing the novel for two months, however I really can’t go into depth of the plot, except that it has no involvement of Spartans at all, just marine and ODST
I presume this is purely for fun, and not with the intention of being published?
I would like to publish it one day, because it’s to explain how the covenant found requiem
Unfortunately that’ll never happen. Halo is the intellectual property of Microsoft, and is currently developed and overseen by 343 Industries, as you probably already know. That means that anything produced (published) without their consent is, well… to put it short, illegal.
If you are genuinely interested in writing and want to be published one day, use Halo to improve your writing only as far as the characters can test your skill, such as characterisation, dialogue and plot structure and flow. Don’t get too set on becoming the next big writer of Halo fiction for 343i. It won’t happen. At least not until you’v proved to the world that you cn write original fiction.
I’m currently on the second draft of an original science fiction novel, but I still enjoy jumping into Halo fan fiction every now and then. So if you’re still interested in writing head on over to this forum post:

Not sure if thats completely true, do you remember A Fist Full Of Arrows? That was a fan fiction that the author was allowed to publish even though only one published copy was made. My point is that if someone worked hard enough, I’m sure they could score a contract with Microsoft and or 343i. If they are lucky enough, anyone could become the next Eric Nylund or Greg Bear. So I wouldent be so quick to put down MGQ III because if he really wanted, he could get lucky too.
Of course, you’re right. But what I don’t want is for MGQ to get his hopes up unecessarily.
Being hired by 343i to write is highly unlikely, they’ll want someone who is already published, already established. Unless, of course, your work is exceptional or fills a niche.
A Fistfull of Arrows was indeed published – electronically and not for profit.
In short, if you’re writing this to make money it won’t happen. If it’s just fan worship go ahead.
Regardless, I look forward to reading it.
Cool story, care to tell? I mean, what’s the point of this thread if you’re just going to tell us you’re writing a Halo fanfic and nothing else?
The only info I’ll release is it’s to explain how the covenant obtained the celestial map to Requiem, and a possible new super soldier, made by Admiral parangosky in case if the Spartan-III’s were to fail.
Try and stay away from cliches. A new, and possibly better, super soldier?
Remember, a story is about the human experience, a journey – both emotional and physical.
It’s not all about kicking -Yoink- and taking names.
Something interesting to explore here. ODST transition to Spartan:)
Hey I noticed a few of you have been saying you can’t publish the book. Well you can but you need to publish it to an app called wattpad. You can interact read and make your own books at no cost. You will need to make it but the only problem is getting people to read it
I am also writing a book. I have 80 pages and counting. So how would you contact them? for permissions, no profit.

You can send it to them, however it’s unlikely they’ll do anything with it. What’s your book about?
I’d love to start writing one because I love Halo that much and not as a full add on to the Halo fiction. But I would love it to be based on the Arbiter/Thel Vadam. But I have no idea on how to start it, what’s been done? Tbh, I’d love to start around the basics of his past and young life, etc.
I’m writing a novel too. It’s called “Hell Among the Stars” and it’s about a civilian whose homeworld (Camber) was glassed and he became and ODST then became a Spartan-IV. That’s all I’m gonna say for now
I was excited to hear all the good book ideas as I would love to read them, but no one is willing to say anything about them. I would caution that it is hard to get people excited about something you are not saying anything about. Good luck all!
Please don’t revive old topics, thanks, especially ones that are over 4 years old
