It’s been on my mind ever since the squads of each character were announced, but now this game informer info solidifies my concern.
There are things like reviving team mates. issuing commands. Which is all cool I guess, but Im really hoping there isnt constant talking.
Will this mean the AIs are indestructible? Cause it’ll really take me out of the zone if I see fred and linda get stuck, die, and then show up 30 seconds later for the next cut scene.
In my opinion, spops was awful. at least gameplay wise. I know it was meant to play co op, but for the people that dont do coop, i thought it was terribly executed.
My guess is think along the lines of Gears of War. In the first one, you could give basic commands to the rest of Delta Squad, and you and your team mates could be downed and require revivial. If someone bled out before they could be revived, back to the last check point.
Spartan Ops was a good idea for a co-op experience executed poorly. There simply wasn’t enough variety to let them get away with re-using maps and levels like Destiny does.

This is my bet to Seriously why would campaign play like Spartan ops? Don’t panic everyone 343’s got this.

lmao. they also said that with halo 4. I loved the campaign, but nothing else. I dont want to feel like gears of war. I sure as hell dont want to move back a checkpoint checkpoint because the AI got downed in an impossible position.

That’s what the squad commands are for. Hopefully this is a really tactical and fast paced game.

now that each mission is going to be kind of squad based, im assuming the gameplay will be like SpOps. with their first attempted squad based style, all they did was throw wave after wave of enemy at you.
Obviously the levels will progress as they have in previous campaigns, I have no doubt 343 can make a fun level. They did all through H4.
SpOps also had non-stop talking and it was really annoying. I’m concerned I’ll constantly be hearing “You got it, Chief!” “Enemy dropships ahead!” “More bad guys!” because they’re trying really hard to make it interactive. but instead, it might be distracting.
It’s been confirmed that you can revive your teammates and that they can revive you, both in single player and co-op. I’m assuming if your teammates fail to revive you or vice-versa then you’ll have to start from the last checkpoint or restart the whole mission, depending on the difficulty.
