im worried about halo

will halo lose the spot of top dog to gears of war?
and I mean no hate to halo or gears of war I love them both.

Hard to say, MCC probably won’t lose to Gears but Halo 5 seems like it’s going to struggle in the long term.

Yea Halo 5 has potential if they listen to the community. Or it’ll be the fastest I’ve ever stopped playing a game.

One thing Gears of War has over Halo is consistency. They understand that their fans don’t want completely revamped gameplay with every new game. By understanding that, they haven’t split their fan base I’m half like Halo has.

Only time will tell.

Halo has already lost the top spot, to a bunch of other games.

Sad but true

Gears 4 looks fantastic. What I loved about the first game was the horror theme throughout. It lost this in the later games and I wasn’t as in to them because of it. The new Dev and Rod (the old production manager for the original gears games) really took stock of what Gears of War is, and they narrowed down what the first game did well and are putting all that in to Gears 4. Rather than say, looking at other games, or what style of game they wanted the franchise to be.

They are being respectful to the franchise and the fanbase. That is a huge strength for Gears 4. If Gears performs well and becomes MS’ flagship title after next year, this will be the reason as far as I’m concerned.

Plus, offline LAN capability. 343 stated that offline LAN wasn’t possible on the Xbox One, and then comes Gears of War Ultimate Edition that supported the feature. Gears 4 will support it as well. So there won’t be any more issues like we had with the officially sanctioned HCS tournament being canceled due to an Xbox Live outage.

You’re asking this on a Halo forum.

Halo hasn’t been the top dog since 3.

In my mind Halo is best

Apparently you never played Judgement lol. My gears friends HATED that game

Has there been any major news updates on Gears 4? All I’ve seen is the E3 story demo that wasn’t very impressive. I am very curious to see if the new developers are going to be the 343 of Gears or something successful.

Gears 4 is releasing far too late in the Xbox lifecycle to take a top spot. I had to actively seek it out to find anything about it. Hopefully it is amazing though, as I would like to see some of these games like CoD and Destiny overthrown. Halo 5 should have wiped the floor with them, but unfortunately many players were ready to quit the second they put their disk in. As long as Halo 5 keeps a stable playerbase, it should be fine.

I’m worried. The only way 343 could market their campaign was by actively and knowingly lying about it and they seem more concerned with making as much money from their fanbase to provide a content-rich multiplayer experience on that end. After all, why bother putting out things like classic gametypes provided in past games from the start when you can just hold off on that and release them with updates tied to “free DLC” that is only “free” if people buy REQ Packs?

I could not even beat the first act, what a terrible gears game. Gears 4 might do better than Halo sure, unless they crap out on games modes such Horde mode and stuff. Hard to tell considering we know jack all about the game.
