I’m very impressed with 343.
I’m very happy with the current state of the game. Two things made me worried during the tech preview: aiming and no BR starts. They fixed the former and gave us the second on ranked.
I kid you not this is the best Halo I’ve had since Halo 2. And this is shaping up to truly become the best Halo out of them all!
I was skeptical about the changes to the game types but after playing a lot more I can tell that these are probably the most balanced game types Halo has seen. The way they implemented sprint (I’m a sprint hater) is truly remarkable, I can’t believe how they nailed the balance, I just can’t believe it.
I want to thank 343 because they’ve handled this game incredibly, despite all our criticisms and many times we behaved horribly towards them, like spoiled children. This is also an apology from me, you have proven me wrong, you are worthy of the Halo franchise.
The game is not without its faults, the sound design is the weakest aspect of the game, none of the guns sound like Halo, when you’re being shot you can’t tell the enemy weapons, vehicles sound generic, and all around the sound design needs to be rebuilt from the ground up without using real guns, make artificial sounds please.
The second problem is the PC performance issues. The game runs worse on my pc than on my Xbox One, and my pc is vastly superior, (I’ve tried a lot of things with mild results).
There are a few other issues like progression and what not, but these I don’t really care. I care about the game being fun, and 343 knocked it out of the park, this game is spectacularly FUN.
