Why? I don’t play Halo too much, but when I do, in my placement games I am always pitted against players who are ready to play against people who are matching their skills. Why in my first placement game, am I against two onyx ranked players and a diamond? Of course, someone’s gonna “Git gud” and, well, to be honest I play free for all as a warm up. But this happens in swat, and slayer as well. I did play the game a lot and was much better upon release, but this is getting tiresome and is detracting me from even playing arena any more.

I didn’t even rank last season, at least, not in the same playlist, I played a second game and was paired with onyx players yet again
Trust me, I understand. It sucks. And it doesn’t get better. As my games went on I ran into a few champion players…
As you said, you were better at the game at the start so the matchmaking system is pitting you against players that it thinks you were on par with (from your previous efforts)
just keep playing, if you keep losing you’ll eventually be placed against players more matched to your current abilities (I think)
