I'm trying to figure out the use of a disk?

Everyone is begging for a disk in the “big” version of this game. I’m just trying to figure out why? If you’re paying that much money for a game, why do you even care about a disk? You’re obviously not going to return a game of that price, if you’re willing to pay that price that is. If you feel that you may return it, you probably shouldn’t drop that kind of cash on it. The Xbox One forces you to fully download games anyway, so I’m baffled as to why everyone hasn’t gone full digital anyway.

Think of it this way people like me downloaded MCC in about 45 minutes so I had no need to go out and buy the disk because my internet rocks. I have a friend I play with in aussie land that it took him like 2 days because his internet is -Yoink-. Also some internet providers cap the amount of data you can use in a month and downloading a game can take up a lot of that. Me personally I love the fact that I am getting the game a week early to download it and have it on my system, some people will need that time to get it on their console. That’s why they are not happy.

Reselling
Collecting
Some People just prefer to have a physical thing

I mean I could ask the same thing

Whats so important that everyone wants digital games?

Everyone has their reasons why they want either physical or digital, both will have different reasons.

It just seems unfair that people who want the LCE are being forced to buy the Digital version. but at the same time its unfair for those who want the LE but want a digital version and are being forced to buy the physical version.

Because a large portion of people have -Yoink- internet or they want the disc simply to collect.
And a lot of people are simply downgrading their pre-order so that they get some bonuses, but also get a physical copy.

Basically: There will always be physical copies of games until the world’s internet infrastructure is good enough to support a digital only environment. And it is decades from that. For me alone, I have 1 fiber connected city in my state, and I live in the country that literally invented the internet.

Because you can share the disc with friends?

I just finished the Witcher 3. Now I can tell my friend how awesome it is and just give him the game for 1-2 months.

I much prefer physical copies of games. You can lend them to friends, trade them in, and they’re still there if you ever need to create a new account for whatever reason. I like to take a look at all of my games that I own, it’s nice seeing all of the cases, especially steel books!

It’s called a disc. I cringed so much reading this…just me? Okay

No, me too. My mind immediately went to this when I first read the title.

Here in rural Australia here internet is not the best, for updates on a game it normally take 1 hour per gig to download and my internet cap is 15 gig. Physical copies are much better out on this side of the world

I was already considering the digital copy. And Normally I play devils advocate and don’t agree with a lot of people here. But if I was to buy a physical copy of the game, and opened up my steel book and had NO DISC, I would honestly be annoyed. I buy a physical copy to have A PHYSICAL copy. Imagine 30 years from now you showing off the crazy stuff you collected in your youth and you point to this one. “Oh and this is a halo case, that game was pretty sweet… though they didnt make the case to hold anything.” Sounds kinda nuts to me.

So My suggestion to you guys is either only get the digital copy or standard, because No disc just doesn’t seem right.

But with digital you could keep your copy and still share it with a friend and both play at the same time if you really wanted to with just one copy.

How?

I guess the best way to amend this would be to have a imbued serial number on the disc that matched the digital copy. So if the disc is playing on another console the person playing with the digital copy gets denied.

I prefer to have a physical copy of my disk. If I don’t have a physical copy, then it doesn’t feel like I truly own it. Which is no me gusta, for me personally.

Thanks saves me having to explain it

2 reasons:

1- People have bad internet that takes forever to download a whole game, along with any updates the devs want to toss in day 1.

2- People want to collect a disc for a library.

I got those 2 reasons.

I agree with the second reason the most as there are a lot of perks with owning a physical copy of game.

I am always missing with this but can you please explain to me the perks of owning a physical copy of the game? Other than you could trade it in? But if you plan on doing this why even purchase a collectors edition in the first place? Or erm well I dunno that’s about it I can’t think of another reason that you can’t have with digital???
