Having seen the footage of Halo 4 that has been released recently, I am fully converted. Pros column is full and the cons column is looking insignificant at this point.
I’ve come to realise that all of the concerns about Halo becoming COD were unfounded. What 343 is doing is intelligent game design, they should be applauded for the integration of different inspirations from other games they are utilising.
Atmospheric and combat elements from Metroid Prime, gameplay elements from modern shooters such as Call Of Duty and Battlefield 3, but all with a distinctive Halo twist.
It’s exactly what game design should be, an amalgam of different ideas and gameplay elements pulled together by one cohesive element, in this case; Halo.
It looks fantastic, all its flaws are overshadowed by its shining successes and I for one, am reaching Halo 3 hype proportions.
I hope the rest of the community is as school-girl-giddy as I am.
Chalk one up on the school-girl-giddy column. I’m just as excited as you are!
I haven’t been excited about Halo since 3. As Cliffy B said about Gears 1, game design is all about taking other peoples ideas and expanding on them.

That’s basically the entire gaming industry right there. The point is, 343 has done it well, they’ve integrated ideas without blatantly ripping them off or attempting to use them purely for a wider audience support. The features are a part of the Halo gameplay, but they don’t define it.
I totally agree. I was younger for Halo 3, so that was definitely a different experience, but I’m still giddy as a -Yoink!- now. Just preordered the limited edition today; fo real.
Here here!
I wasn’t 100% sure about this until I watched the E3 gameplay demo live on Monday, but now I’m fully on board with the game; Limited Edition pre-ordered, the whole she-bang!
My only little (and I mean tiny) worry is the weapon unlocked bit in the Infinity trailer.
But even with that I can’t contain my excitement. Roll on November so I can my hands on this & AC3!!
I had faith with 343 since the begining and everytime a new peice of information is released, an even better image of the game is created in my mind. It’s getting better and better.

There were definitely iffy moments for me and there are still some minor things here and there, but considering they still have 5 months to iron out these issues, I’m not too phased.

At last! People are starting to dump all these negative views. I’ve been on board with this since the beginning and I’m looking forward to the day when all haters are lovers. Welcome to the group!

I was never a hater, I was always excited for Halo 4. But I certainly had my reservations, these have been almost entirely assuaged with the new footage. I just hope the Waypoint forums can change their format a bit, so we can get away from the usual trend of posting things without thinking them through at all. Bungie.net was bad enough, but Waypoint is worse in a lot of ways, likely due to the backdrop of Reach as the most recent game played by people on the forums; so there is a lot of negativity.
Hoping for more intelligent, positive discussions.
