I’m torn between Halo 5 and Halo Online. What I mean by that is the way the games work. Halo Online looks like a great game that I’d love to play on PC… But Halo 5 looks just as appealing on the Xbox One. Equal starts is what Halo needs, but I just feel like the different attachments/versions of weapons in Halo Online will make the game fun and attract more people from CoD. The customization and visuals of the weapons and armors from Online look a lot cooler and more realistic than Halo 5. You would have different versions of ARs, BRs, DMRs, etc. in real life, not just one standard variant. And you can play as Elites.
But this isn’t about Online. One part of me wants equal-starts in Halo 5, and now a part of me wants to have a BTB experience with different versions of weapons. Except equal starts IS Halo, you can’t remove that.
What do you think about Halo 5?
I don’t know about the real life thing. Everyone’s rifles are set up the same way in real life.
I have had an idea. Halo 5’s multiplayer is set into 2 parts, Arena and Infinity. Infinity mode is redesigned Halo 4, with custom weapons, and ability to play as Elites. Ordnance and armor abilities are not present, but loadouts with tactical packages are.
Arena mode is what we Beta tested.
Each mode would have the same playlists, and they are all ranked.

I too am Very excited with the prospects of halo online. like i keep saying though is that halo online is just a different game its just different its not supposed to play like the core halo games, this is more in vain of spartan assault and halo wars
I have often wondered what halo games might look like in different genres of games
and halo online is one of those things.
That said i think they should stay separate, online with these new “modified” weapons and armors
and Halo 5 for the more traditional arena halo
Why not both cue Mexican music
I’m in the infantry. We all have a standard setup that we are not allowed to change. The weapons themselves are designed to be highly upgradeable, but the military doesn’t allow it. If you want to buy your own AR and a bunch of stuff to customize it, yeah, sure, go nuts. But it doesn’t happen in the military as much as I dearly wish it did.
So your torn between
Rpg level perks Cod online halo version that is pay to win only in Russia
Or
Halo 5
Go with halo 5
not interested in this halo online thing at all
Looking at the Halo Online trailer and seeing that attachments for weapons and armor will affect your damage output and how much damage you can take and those attachments have either an in-game currency you can purchase it with or pay real money to get the attachments.
No thanks.
Think of Planetside 2. Same concept and is pay to win.

Nope, I’m torn between evolved Infinity gameplay that isn’t as wild as Halo 4, and
Arena gameplay.
I think Halo Online is a great PC game, and Halo 5 will be a great Xbox game.
The one with the campaign is obviously better

not all ftp games are ptw seriously people are so ridiculous its just a different model for gaming then arena style fps, FTP game can and often are extremely well balanced and the micro-transaction do not harm the balance

Except the footage that was shown in the game trailer shows two currencies. 1 in game and the other that you buy with real money. Both used to buy gear, but people with more disposable income than others will buy the gear with real money, thus the pay to win model. Sure it’s FTP, but that’s basically a buzzword at this point for most games.
The game won’t be well balanced. Take two players that start playing the game at the same time. 1 player does not purchase gear with real money and is stuck with grinding their way to get the better gear. The other player spends real money to get that gear instantly with no work involved. That’s not well balanced at all and basically promotes the micro-transactions because in order to get better gear and become equally matched with others, you’ll have to buy gear, else you’ll be destroyed by them and their superior gear they bought with real money.
If this game was FTP with micro-transactions to buy gear that only changes the aesthetics, then yea thats ok. When you pay real money to get the better gear, then that’s when the game isn’t balanced.

I’d take spawning with boltshot and cloak over pay to win every damn time.

I think you’re way off here, looking at this game through rose-tinted glasses since it’s on PC.
You think Halo 4 is less wild than Halo Online? A free to play game that lets you buy a souped up AR and other boosts with real money? Yeah Halo 4 had terrible perks but at least everyone’s weapons did the same amount of damage and you couldn’t buy your way to superior equipment.
Also you say “arena gameplay” as if that’s all Halo 5 is when we know the arena experience is only one aspect of the game’s much larger multiplayer suite.
Both can coexist, halo online is meant to be different. So as long as traditional halo is still being released for the main games, i’m happy. I am looking forward to seeing if it comes to the rest of us.
I still want a battlefield like halo though.

I second that. As far as I’m concerned, Halo 5 is the only Halo online I’ll need this year.
