Im tired of social quit ban complaints

Here’s my opinion. Quit bans have been here since halo 2 and are still in MMC. It’s not NEW. Quit bans on Halo Infinite isn’t some NEW “unfair punishment” forcing players to leave the game. You quit the game knowing that quit bans are a thing, and if you didn’t know then you will learn. It is selfish to leave teammates who might actually care about winning and having a good time in a game just bc you don’t like that game mode. I don’t care if there isn’t a lot of control over what game types you can play. It doesn’t justify making players lose the game bc someone quit bc they had a KD under 5.00 or whatever. I know a lot of people won’t like this post but I have really strong feelings about this and it might be a bit harsh but I’m writing this on the least optimistic side. Quit bans are a good thing. However, Im open to ideas on how to improve quit bans if that’s possible.

Totally agree. I think the only time it shouldn’t ban you is if you have no one else in your lobby other than bots and the enemy team.

Indeed. A simple argument that I always throw, is that the game isn’t always about them. If you start a game, you accept that the game is overall fun while well aware there are things you like/dislike and the rules of going against them. So there is no complaint about “Playing for fun, this gamemode isn’t fun”

The only argument they have is being banned for leaving a match out of their control (wifi loss, data corruption). But in that case, just add a join-back-in option.

There is ways I feel it could be handled better, but I do agree that actions should have consequences regardless of it being ranked or social. You’re in a team oriented multiplayer game, which only functions if both sides have actual teams. No matter how try to push it, you’re only a portion of what actually matters, and if you leave someone stranded, I’m sorry, but there’s more of them then there are of you, I will always favor them because of that. Favoring the minority is just dumb, as simple as that.

Yep 100% agree. And yes there probably is better ways the system could work but the principles are the same

I think the bigger issue with quit bans, is that at times you can be disconnected from the game resulting in a quit ban. There is also the issue of being paired with all bots. I fully support anyone quitting when they are paired with bots vs a full team. Quit bans should not apply when you are with bots.

Abandonment Penalties thanky fully only kick in if you quit often. They’re not going to kick in on the first offense.

You’re also not suppose to get flagged if a number of teammates have already left, but I’ve heard there were was problems with that. I hope to god that Bots aren’t considered “real people” in this case.

These are some of the reasons that quit bans don’t happen after one game and should never happen after just one game. They could spend a lot of time and effort coding for when quitting shouldn’t count against you, or they can just allow for a couple of quits before hitting you with a ban. It’s not perfect but it allows enough flexibility to allow quitting for genuine reasons with a low chance of getting banned due to bad luck.

Yeah, it wouldn’t be fair if you were kicked the first time your quit because a lot of times it can be connection issues.

yeah, they have a little cushion before banning. If you DO get banned bc you continue to get disconnected then by that point it may be somewhat your fault since you knew you were going to get disconnected every time. :man_shrugging: and then it would be either your internet or Halos servers fault. Either way its unlucky

oh yeah bans should never apply to bots that’s just unfair :frowning:

Here’s my opinion. Quit ban complaints have been here since halo 2 and are still in the master mief collection. They’re not NEW. Quit ban complaints on Halo infinite isn’t some NEW “Unfair Feedback” forcing other players to listen to people’s complaints. You play the game knowing there’s going to be people who dislike aspects of it, and if you didn’t know you will learn. It is selfish to say that people’s opinions shouldn’t matter just because you want to keep playing the mode they didn’t want to play in the first place. I don’t care if you don’t care if there isn’t a lot of control over what game types you can play. It doesn’t justify making players play game modes they would rather take a ban over playing bc someone cares about winning instead of fun or whatever. I know a lot of people won’t like this post but I have really strong feelings about this and it might be a bit harsh but I’m writing this on the least optimistic side.
