You read the title. I feel as if the many issues we are bringing up on the forums are controversial, to say the least, but I’m curious to why 343 addressed only a few things in the last few weekly updates. In the MCC (Oh the days…) 343 was rather distraught and fought hard to keep us in the loop. Now, we have questions about aim assist, social playlists, ranking, weapon starts, etc. Yet we get vague responses and “coming soon(s)”.
I was hoping for more of a “We are putting out a social slayer playlist, an FFA social playlist, and they have these features” instead of “We see your concerns for social playlists and are working on them to be released soon” Specifics would be nice. Accuracy in detail would be nice. A four-paragraph post explaining why they chose the level of aim assist would be nice. We as players deserve answers simply for buying the game. It’s only week two, I know, but the game doesn’t feel complete.
Feeling left out of the loop of this game is kind of making me lose hope. I’d like to think dropping FFA down to six players would be an easy fix, and maybe producing a social slayer playlist wouldn’t be that hard. But I’m not a game designer or multiplayer manager.
It’s tough. Back in the H3 days Bungie told us everything they’d change and then why they were changing it. I remember the rise and creation of double-beatdowns. Back when having better internet basically gave you a 2.0 K/D.
Unfortunately they can’t get too specific on what they are bringing because if they announced something and one tiny detail changes then the entire community goes into rage mode.
It’s their way of saying “we aren’t changing -Yoink-, you will take your dull maps and limited gamemodes and enjoy them”
at this point 343 may need to consider running “test” playlists to see how well community suggested game mechanics work, and gauge the reaction to them, for example running warzone for a week or two with a damage based point bonus for bosses, and find out which way plays better, or run team slayer for a week with no sprint and buffed movement speed to see which way truly plays better
I know people will always complain (i’m one of them, I want to love halo 5 but just can’t) but 343 really needs to dial this thing in and bring halo back to the top

I see your point. I know I’ve already been disappointed with a few changes to Halo in general. I just feel that many of the decisions haven’t been justified as of yet. The rage mode of the community generally gives good points, however.

its been two weeks. i don’t understand why everyone is so impatient. there is no game in history that came out and was changed dramatically in less than 6-8 weeks.

Oh absolutely. I’m just curious to as why they haven’t addressed things yet. I’d like to know what they’re tweaking and monitoring. My biggest point is that we don’t know
they are tweaking orion, adding in new maps and trying to make sure people can actually connect to online matches. they aren’t working on gameplay tweaks, its only been two weeks.
believe it or not - this game is very balanced. i haven’t had so many games so close in any halo game.

I do believe it is balanced. Thank Jesus they pulled Orion to work on it. But what about bigger concerns?
They were able to add maps to other playlists, sweet. But why haven’t they just thrown together a social playlist? My whole point is the lack of feedback from 343. I think they’ve geared their responses and interests toward other things at the moment. A large group of other players and concerns are almost neglected. The game is fun, it’s competitive, but 343 isn’t addressing the biggest issues or giving answers to the community.

That’s a horrible idea. The only reaction they’d be getting is from the same people moaning and complaining on these forums, instead of the people who are enjoying it the way 343 made it to be played.

Uh. No. The couple weeks after launch are the most importan weeks of the entire game’s life cycle.
343 essentially spent 3 years at school. Then got a nice new job. And took off on vacation for the first two weeks.

Yes, patience. This community needs more of it.
Also, as XACSlayerX mentioned testing, it’s likely that all the changes that are being called for are already in the works, even if only in the planning stages. As a enterprise software developer, I’m familiar with how much time it takes to make a few changes in code that is outside of your control. And a lot of times, something may be approved, but minds change while it’s in the works, or that change causes more things to break. So the lack of details being provided to the community could be because they don’t want to give us false hope.
How I imagine their schedule.
Plan, Build (2 days), fix bugs (1 day), test (1-2 days), fix bugs (1-2 days), re-test (1-2 days), player testing (1-2 days), rebuild based on feedback (1-3 days), test (1-2 days), fix bugs (1-2 days), re-test (1-2 days), player test (1-2 days), add to next scheduled update, and release details on what will be updated. Repeat for next few issues addressed in community.
Number of issues that were likely fixed in this iteration: 5-10
Minimum time for this iteration: 12 weekdays. With (2) weekends: 16 days
More than likely the time for this iteration: 22 weekdays. With (4) weekends: around 30 days.
Current days since release: 14
Bottom-line: They’re working on it. Give it time. Be patient

Yes, which highlighted very few of the bigger issues which actually is a small snippet of what we should have. The article almost says “Look we know there are a bunch of problems, BUT here are the new forge maps and a new playlist for BTB will be coming out soon AND here are new Req cards for you to struggle to achieve!!”
343i put out a stable working quality game and people are complaining about EVERYTHING when really NOTHING is actually wrong with the game. I don’t blame them, I hope they’re on vacation not reading any of the garbage on these forums.
