I'm sorry but I have to complain...

First of all WHY ARE THE SPARTANS SO SHINY?!

Does not approve

Secondly is that some of the weapons look really weird. Like the AR look like some bits are made out of plastic…

Still does not approved.

However the maps look unreal  I approve of those.

The game comes out in more than a year.
Placeholders.

I believe what we are seeing in the vidoc is still in the conceptual stage and has not reached the point of how it will look in the actual beta.

The shininess is just because they aren’t properly textured, but more of a quick render for something to show. Still not a fan that it still seems to be the S-IV armor from Halo 4, the Spartans from the E3 teaser showed much more promise.

I accept your apology, but to be honest, we all were expecting somebody to complain about something.

I think the armor looks very much like Halo 3.

At least it looks like an AR, and how can you judge it from hard to see off-screen gameplay. You are looking too hard and early…

The reason they’re shiny is probably because they’re either new S4 recruits or because this is the future and they cleaned their armour?

Really a dumb thing to complain about. Especially since we’ve received one video and it wasn’t even gameplay.

Still looks better in a new engine.

I knew there were a lot of nit pickers on these forums, but this is incredible.

The game is still over a year from being launched. You’re not looking at the finished product. <.<

Anything before/during the Beta product is a placeholder to showcase the new engine and how it would “upscale details in dated objects”.

With the amount of detail being put into games, it makes players a lot more difficult to spot. Especially in a game as fast as Halo. Having the player stick out more would prove useful later on, instead of having the game be something along the lines of ‘where’s Waldo,’ or ‘hide and seek.’

Also, the game is still in development and is far from going gold. Surely what they have shown is just a placeholder; Made to at least have something more to show to us than just the map(s).

Just a 3D render calm down

Lol I’m pretty confident that what we saw in the trailer was just the concept models on a PC. They didn’t look like finished products at all.

They don’t look anywhere near being fully textured to me. Glad to see some of the Halo 4 armours in there, too. I think ones like CIO and Engineer give the good ones like Raider and Warrior a bad name.

As for the AR’s plasticky bits, I like the new look. Seems Halo is shuffling slightly away from retro-futurism towards modern futurism. Not everything has to be made of metal.

They look like preliminary 3D models. Notice that the under suit isn’t even textured with the hexagon pattern.

WIP’s are, by definition, not final.

Theyre WIP so im sure theres no problem (still better than h4 plasic soldiers haha)

Also, basically 80-90% of all modern weapons have some form of plastic externals on them

The spartan models are early, those textures are likely nowhere near final. I actually like that they are a little shiny, gives off more of an impression of being armored.

As far as the weapons go I really like the direction they are going with the designs. Using sensible materials like polymer instead of large metal hunks of rifle. Leave the all metal weapons to the Forerunners.

The AR might actually be my favorite AR iteration yet in terms of design and color scheme.

out of the four armors seen i liked half of them. taking the fact that they’re shiny out with the assumption these are placeholder and wont be like that in the final product, i thought the two red spartans in the beta trailer designs were pretty bad. but i did like lockes armor and the blue spartan in the beta trailers armor( which basically looked like cheifs armor with a kooler helmet). also love that the black undersuit is back.

It isn’t December yet.
