I don’t know which genius made this decision, but my armour coatings should work on ANY armour core that I have.
I don’t care if this colour combination was introduced in Halo Infinite, I want to use it on my Mark V armour core.
The customization is already few and far between thanks to the progression system, at least let me use what I unlock!
Its also an issue with Armour kits, specifically the championship ones, I had a friend who bought a kit for the armour coating, only to discover that coating couldn’t be used separate from the Kit, which is not a good move, turns it from a “Customisation pack” of sorts into a “Skin”.

It’s already bad enough I can’t use my signature color choice I’ve used in all my spartans before. Now, this?! Then again It doesn’t surprise me for them to utilize such a method. I wanted to give this game a chance but they’re hardly giving me options to be myself without emptying my wallet or wasting time
A system akin to Warframe’s pallets or Anthem’s Material system as a compromise of monetisation would’ve worked better.
This is the most annoying thing ever, I want to see how these HCS partners colorways would look on different armor, luckily I haven’t bought into it yet and will be holding back on doing so encouraging others not to, its stupid and backwards.
It needs attention brought to it, along with the rest of the armour coating system, its not good and severely limiting.

This was not a good decision because it prevents players from building a unique personal Spartan. Some items are for the V some for the VII, so you end up jumping around to use the new unlocks instead of just creating your own Spartan. There should just be no core and as you unlock items you can equip them to your Spartan that’s it pretty simple. If the want to have armor kits that include an entire skin like they have that is fine, but all of the unlocks should be able to be changed whenever with no core limitations.
I like the idea of the Armour Core on paper, since it gives a distinct aesthetic with armour pieces having generational variants, like a Car or Jet, in its current state however too much of the MK VII I feel is tied to the store.
Agree. Especially for those who spent $10 or $20 on items from the shop and they can’t interchange those pieces however they would like. Armor coatings and armor pieces need to be universal.
I would also like the addition of a Wear Slider for armor coatings that lets us choose how clean/worn our armor appears. Many of the coatings are currently very worn, and I think it would open up a lot more customization to have this option.
Bumping this as it doesn’t make any sense, as well as the visors being locked to armour cores as well. I can’t even use the Platinum Anniversary armour coating on my Mark V armour which is literally the armour core they have showing it off in the promo images!
They should have just made the coat system customizable. WE pick what color, material and pattern we want on each comb piece and center of the coat logo. Could’ve been really cool, must be super awesome for them to tinker with, so awesome in fact they made it the new way color your spartan, then decided to not give it to the players but instead give us THEIR pre-made combos and ideas 
imagine halo 3 but every possible combo of colors were separated into a single item. Sure it would APPEAR like there’s a lot of choices, cuz they are showing us the Number of exact combos instead of letting us be creative. So sad, could have worked out
