This is it! It is like Christmas eve! It’s better than Christmas Eve. In fact, it is better than last week because now I’ve had a chance to at least see the game and know it looks amazing.
Tonight should be epic.
PLUS we don’t have to wait until midnight like a normal launch, PLUS since I’ve already downloaded the 15gb patch so once the update hits it’s game time!!!
Forget about working tomorrow, or the rest of 2014 for that matter. The time has come!
YESSSSSSSSSS!!! It is going to rock! Can you imagine how awesome it will be to have Halo 2 matchmaking again! On top of that, Halo 2 Anniversary matchmaking. I wish all the playlists were ranked out of the gate, but I guess I can survive without it… I just want to play!
If you’re not at least slightly excited about the matchmaking launch tonight (and you’re not a die hard campaign player) then you are not a true Halo fan. No other explanation.
It has been so long since H2 matchmaking has been online. Now it is back, looks absolutely amazing, runs at 60fps, uses the best controller ever made, has the ability to record amazing kills for montages AND will be running on dedicated servers.
I think I’ll close this one out with a quote from … well if you’re a fan you will know exactly where this is quoted from: “There are those who said this day will never come, what have they to say now?”
I just want to be able to find a game with a party.
Solo searching can be bad but generally finds a game for me within 4-6 minutes. Parties however almost never work. I REALLY, REALLY hope this patch fixes that. It’s gonna be a make or break for me and a ton of my Halo 2 veteran friends.

You’re right. There is no way everything will be fixed in one patch. But, I am optimistic that the matchmaking will be working in at least a usable level. In the update they said they’re already working on the next patch.
I am excited but I am not gonna get my hopes up that this will be smooth. I hope it does but right now I would rather be very impressed than totally let down.
