So I join this game, and instead of you starting up like normal it just shows the map. There is a banchee skipping around on the screen. No other players on the map. Just sitting there for 10 mins. watching this banchee skip around the map. The option to leave is still available, but I don’t want to leave because if you leave too many games you will get banned from the server. After 15 mins. of this I left. Now what happens if I get the ban because I left a gameless game? What guarantees do I have that this will not be counted as just a leave. Should I be penalized because the game itself screwed up?
The Host must have had bad connection. if you really were not liking the game you could have left earlier.
I wouldnt worry so much about a ban just dont quit games repeatedly.
ps. You might want to move this to the halo 4 forum if you want more feedback.
There is also a chance its your Walmart connection if you find your self in a lot of these games. I have really high speed internet, 32mb’s and this type of thing only happens when I play with my friend Blake who has 3mb internet. In fact I would be willing to bet the majority of the people complaining about lag, are lagging due to their own slow internet.
I would recommend at least a 6mb connection at minimum to comfortably play the game and make sure no other devices in the house are pulling your bandwhidth and do not play wireless, hard line it.

Even if you have high speed internet you can be heavily affected by someone’s horrible internet. I have high speed internet and I lag every now and then because someone else isn’t connected to the game very well.

This is totally true, I have my Xbox port forwarded with a distinct IP and open Nat. With 50mb download, 5mb upload and average ping of 10 I shouldn’t have lag but I do.
JIP tries its best to match you up to a True skill level and connection is not prioritized.
