I'm sick of having to patch up every hole....

perhaps i’m way too ocd or something but i’m forging a map in impact and my ceiling has holes in it, every time i return to the map, more problems arise due to these stupid holes in every single object, halo reach never had this problem because all the forge pieces were sharp and pointy and all fitted in place together perfectly, but in halo 4 they leave gaps in the middle and they’re rounded so there are little holes in the middle of the other holes. i dunno it just feels stupid to have a map in space with a hole in the ceiling where you can see into outer space, oh and i’m completely out of budget and i’ve used all my forge items, what else can i do? i can’t help but just stare at the ceiling now even though i’ve patched up the rest i’ve come to the conclusion that it’s hopeless.

I love holes. Keep up the good work!

i don’t love holes they ruin the immersion in the map especially when the ceiling has holes in it.

Only forged one map myself and I noticed this. Poor design choice by Certain Affinity. They made a lot of bad decisions with forge…

i mean don’t get me wrong, i like the designs of the new forge objects and the dominion objects but many of the important objects like blocks have holes in them, even the wall colosseums are much smaller now and they too have holes in them, it’s stupid to make a map in space with holes in the ceiling that would normally suck everything through, the forge objects are impractical. oh and just look at the size of the man cannon, how the heck are we able to phase that thing into small objects?

i’m finishing up a map on impact and have been noticing the same thing in some of my 5x5 flooring. it’s a bit of an annoyance, but i’m more about functionality than aesthetics, myself. have you really used all of your pieces? it must be huge. :stuck_out_tongue:

just in case you haven’t already, check out your bridges and inclines section if you’ve got budget left in there. the huge stunt ramp can make nice 2x4 substitutes when only the flat side of it is visible. the under-side of a bridge can play a similar role, as well.

well you see I’m making a space ship map, an aesthetic one, well i already made it, i just keep coming back to it fixing holes constantly. filling in the holes has cost me alot of budget, it’s not the biggest, most aesthetically appealing map but still i ain’t having no holes in my map, i will fight against certain affinity’s system, heck i’ll have to use central floor caps if worst comes to worst (i have an obsession with putting windows in my maps especially on impact because it’s in spaaaaaaaaace).

i patched up all my other holes with small air locks, so it’s hopefully hole free now, i also used y crosses and 2x2 corners, i just fear for those who put more detail into their map than me only to find out that there are holes in between their blocks.

speaking of the underside of bridges, they’re more curved this time round so even they’re less practical.
