So first we hear of the Storm Rifle, now the Storm Grunt. I’m sensing a theme here. Does anyone else think that these might be clues to the name of the new Covenant faction?
Storm? Huh
Servants of Abiding Truth.
^ Why hint at what is already revealed.
Here goes…
The Weather Balloons!

We don’t know that for sure, unless I’m missing something.
Thunder-Class Elites? Sounds pretty cool.

Other than the fact that the end result of the Glasslands Trilogy HAS to reveal why the Elites in Halo 4 are enemies, and they are building up an entire faction that is opposing the Arbiter’s attempts at peace with humanity?
It’s VERY clear cut. The Servants get bigger, build a fleet, attack humanity before Oni attacks them.

Just wondering, where did we learn that grunts are called storm grunts?

I’m familiar with Abiding Truth, but we still don’t know that for sure. Thursday War will reveal the truth. Something might happen that we aren’t suspecting. Also, I’m sure that this has more to do with the Covenant faction than just the name.

It’s in the New Article on the Macfarlane Toys on the Front Page…
It labels the Grunts as “Storm Grunts”…
And if I’m not mistaken that’s the same way we learned the name of the “Sticky Detonator”, it was labelled on a screenshot…
Either way, it does make the most sense that the “Storm” thing has significance…
thanks guys…and yes, i do agree that must have something to do with a new covenant faction
hopefully we’ll find out some good info from thursday war
Storm as in “Sturmgewehr 44”. Storm = Assault.
Thus Storm “Assault” Grunt and Storm “Assault” Rifle.
2 AR :o)
Holy crap! We just made the exact same topic go look!! Crash ish
Well, the Storm Grunt’s name was revealed months ago, when the leaked image of the back of the Mcfarlane package hit the internet. So it’s not actually new info.

But it has significance now because the storm rifle is revealed.

As soon as I saw the Storm Rifle I realized the connection, but I couldn’t discuss it here because the Storm Grunt’s name had yet to be officially revealed.

Lightning-Class Jackals…oh god why?

It will be interesting to see the Jackal ranks. It looks like Elite ranks are staying more or less the same.

So let me get this straight. Both Glasslands and the short story The Return stress vehemently about how the Elites lack a lot of ships and have no way to rebuild ships and refurbish the ships they do have. Now The Return states that the Elites used what they had left to fight the Covenant Loyalists and while they did engage in legendary battles with the Brutes and their Prophet masters, they were steadily losing vessels.
HOWEVER, now the extremist faction of Elite society will somehow manage to grow and get a fleet to fight humans WHILST fighting the Loyalists. Nevermind the fact that it’s implied that neither 'Telcam’s side has many ships nor does the Arbiter’s faction. Yet ships magically appear and now every Elite hates humanity…for some vague reason.
Might as well render the great Schism non-canon since nobody seemed to learn a damn thing. The Prophets lied to the Elites, yet the Elites still believe in said lies despite the lies being revealed to be lies.

Exactly. I’m guessing that something unexpected happens in Thursday War. But it does make sense that there would be a whole fleet a Requiem, since the new Covenant believe a god to be there.
