I own the disc of Halo 5 but as I was removing it to go play Reach the game kept playing. Anyone else experiencing this?

I guess the disc works more as a game key rather as a source media, as the game installs on the hard disk

Pretty much how it works.
I just found it weird because Halo 5 was the only game that did it. The MCC and Fallout 4 didn’t.

I am pretty sure that it does have something to do with Halo 5 being free this week. I remember when Battlefield 4 was free for a week I could play it with out using my disk.
Nope, haven’t tried it,the disc pretty much stays in the box 24/7.

It’s probably because Halo 5 is free to play right now so you sort of own it digitally at the moment. If you take the disc out next week it will probably quit the game.

Again I was able to take the disc out and still play before h5 was free so unless they changed something this won’t be the case.

Well, I’ve never been able to load up Halo 5 without the disc before. Now I can just press it in my Games and Apps and it launches.

Um no i have the game on disk and ever since the free game days has happened it lets me play without the disk.

There is some confusion going on here, You need the disc to load the game. What OP was saying is that he was able to take the disc out and the game would still run.
