okay… but what about the armor you don’t have? i’m sure an few of those priced armors would look fantastic in an machinima! a shame they’re behind another 5-10 buck paywall… thusly having cool characters in an machinima pricy af
also yeah… surprised it isn’t an bindable button even on the MCC PC, to lower your sodding weapons
True, like for real they need to add a catalogue page or something.
That way there’s never any FOMO as far as shop items cuz you can just get them whenever individually.
I’m guilty of getting shop stuff (not this week tho, cuz those prices suck) so I have stuff I don’t use, but I’d probably spend more money more frequently if I could just hop on, see a thing I like, go “I want THAT” and buy just that on the spot without having to debate the effects it will have on my wallet.
Then if I want something specific for Machinima, I can get it without spending too much. I still find it ooky how much of the stuff is paywalled, but at least make the paywall easier to deal with if it’s gonna be there.
You don’t have to play everyday. Forget the battlepass and challenges, and just play what you want. If you skip a day, it is there for you, just complete what is open that day.
I read your entire post, and I agree with a few things especially the drip-fed content. But, what I don’t agree with that there is such a thing called “F.O.M.O” This is literally a BS comment that players came up with, that companies nowadays abuse because players as yourself allowed yourself to believe in such nonsense.
There isn’t one single cosmetic item in this beta or any game for that matter “that I need or want”. It’s an illusion you tell yourself, meaning you deliberately set yourself up for the downfall over something that does (absolutely nothing for this game at all.) This is why I hate shops, 343 is counting on players as yourself to give in, and most of you do.
(The main reason players do, and this is not an insult to anyone to be clear), but players these days are weak minded, they have allowed companies such as 343 to condition them to believe “this is a must have and if I don’t get it now I won’t ever get it”
It’s a child’s play thing you literally do not need.
Oh trust me I already know, lol. I’m what, 91 on the battlepass and 20 on the event pass? and we’re what, two months into the season? And I haven’t even been playing a lot lmao. I’ve mostly been on Star Trek Online.
Gods could you be more condescending about it though? You can give advice without insulting the person you’re trying to help.
I’m sorry, but this is 100% false. If you can’t control your own emotions, that is in no way on anyone but you. That is a fact that you need to come to terms with yourself and figure out what you need to do to help yourself.
It is 100% on the dev if they’re creating systems specifically designed to keep you playing and actively punishes you for taking breaks.
What do people think is going to happen when you design games like this? Weekly rewards that only appear for one week and never appear again? What happened to earning gear through playthrough?
It’s like people blaming Vegas for having slot machines. I don’t like the childish games these companies play, but they are not responsible for (your own actions, period.)
If the “F.O.M.O” is that much of an issue for you, then you need to find other games to play and stop blaming other for your own actions.
I’m blaming the source. You’re blaming me. There’s a big difference.
It’s quite easy to place the blame when you’re not the one going through it. All I’m asking is for Halo to return to being fun and less restrictive. I don’t see the issue with that.
Honestly needs to be a balance between casuals and competitive guys, people of all backgrounds play halo from the folks that just wanna do stupid Sh*t with they’re best buds like I used to and others like a adrenaline fueled neck and neck matches but this focus solely on competitive is rather annoying halo should be for everyone not just one group of people, it needs to be for every last man, Spartan super soldier and sangheili warrior out there
Those are important too, and I’d like for you to reference where exactly I said they’re not. If the game isnt inherently fun the reward doesnt matter.
But take a look at something like Skyrim. Every quest gives you a reward. Gold, a new Sword, a new spell, you are given rewards for doing something. Sometimes you even get rewards based on performance (like doing side objectives). Those rewards can result in a Level-up, and a feeling of accomplishment. FPS games usually didnt have that. Call of Duty 1-3, Halo 1-2, Quake, and other early FPS games had no reward structures and no progression systems. They were certainly fun, and appealed to people through that, but they didnt have anything to keep non-competitive players playing long-term.
Call of Duty 4 brought in a progression system to reward performance. Now you get a reward for playing better. Maybe its a new weapon, attachement, or perk. You keep playing because its fun, but now its also rewarding to play the game. These hits two different parts of the brain, the part that desires fun and the part that desires a reward. Players these days do play for fun, but they also play for rewards as part of that fun. I.
You just admitted you have a form of an addiction, and you are allowing a company to control that addiction. 343 isn’t the only business that does this, and they literally made it (load and clear that this was “a live service game”.) Anyone that pays attention to things like this or gaming in general knows what’s being said from a business like this should not be taken at face value.
Is what 343 is doing right? no, but players need to know what they are dealing with before playing whatever game. It was so easy to see what 343 plans were in the first week Infinite was released that I’ve lost interest in playing the beta because it is not being designed to be a game, It’s being designed to make a profit. That is a reality a lot of you really need to face, and know it’s not going to change, it’s actually going to get worse.
D2 is a prime example how after Activision dropped Bungie that things got a lot worse, and they continue to look for more ways to set that illusion players allow themselves to fall into.
Yes, it would be nice if 343 was more interested in making a quality type of game, but the actual fact here is, they are not, and none of us have a say in what direction the game will head in spite of how much players what to see things improve.
Sorry, I don’t baby people. That is the worst thing anyone can do to anyone. I tell the hard core facts, not to upset people but to let them know they need to face the truth. I will say this again. You are responsible for your own actions, especially if you are an adult.
You better look up the word addition, because it comes in many forms, and denial is a huge issue in their world. No matter how much you attempt to justify your own actions you will not be able to hide the actual fact that no one forces you to do anything.
You’re refusing to change is what you’re doing. You want to talk about taking responsibility? Take responsibility when this game remains the same contrived mess it is now.
