Let’s see, after week 1 of this 6 month season anyone who grinded the challenges is now 25% or more through the S2-BP. Meaning after 1 month (4.3 weeks) most people will have 100% finished the BP if they continue to grind challenges.
Even only playing during events you would 100% it long before season 3. Don’t cave into the weekly challange fomo.
Just don’t even play at all. The infinite grind and challenge system is toxic. Doing challenges each week was like a chore. Free yourself from that burden and actually play games that reward your time, effort and money spent. I won’t give 343 another cent untill things change.
Well if you think there’s only gonna be four event weeks in the next six months, go for it.
Because it’s a gigantic waste given the time frame from the season. If you max out your Season pass in the first month by using XP boosters, and then an event pops up that you’re going to play for because the rewards appeal to you, all the XP is wasted and you ended up blowing those boosters for nothing.
Edit: I know this because I used a bunch of free XP boosts at the beginning of Season 1 and then each time there was a cool event that I needed to play for, all earned XP became irrelevant and made the game less enjoyable to play. Until there’s a good cadence of Seasons and some kind of non-season progression (which I assume will be XP based as well), then burning XP boosters is pointless.
Sure, and if your only goal is to max out the battle pass and then never play Infinite until the next Battle Pass drops, then that’s great. It also apparently works if you’re a free player and you absolutely don’t want to get locked out of your free pass once time runs out.
I’m gonna disagree. Each week we can see from concurrent players that there’s a spike when the new weekly challenge is up, and there’s an even bigger spike when it’s an event. The core players are coming back to earn cosmetics each week. If you’re one of those players (and it sounds like OP is in it for events and not weekly ultimates) then it makes very little sense to rush to complete the battle pass.
If Season 2’s events mirror Season 1’s, then there’s a minimum of 6 weeks that need to be played (3 for the Fracture and 3 assorted weeklies). If OP maxes out the battle pass in 4 weeks, then there’s 2 weeks in which they won’t be earning any experience and could have saved an XP booster.
Well, I’m sure the OP meant the main battle pass. You wouldn’t use a booster for the event challenges because they just give you the item after a challenge is completed
I think you’re not understanding me. If they used 4 weeks worth of XP boosters during the first 4 event weeks to reach level 100, and then they played the final 2 weeks, they wouldn’t earn any experience because the BP is maxed.
OP uses XP boosters for 4 event weeks to reach BP 100, then plays the final 2 event weeks.
Big Brain Porrage uses XP boosters for 3 event weeks to reach BP 75, then plays the final 3 event weeks without boosters, which puts him at BP 100.
Both of us have reached BP 100 after spending the exact same amount of time in Halo Infinite, but OP spent more XP boosters.
Essentially, yes. I’m of the opinion that holding onto all these free XP boosters that 343 is showering us with each time they make a mistake is better because eventually we’re going to have shorter seasons and (hopefully) some type of XP based progression system outside of seasons.
Well probably more. They mentioned above that they “pop an XP booster at the start of each day.” So depending on how long it takes to complete all the challenges, or if they’re also doing it to farm the daily challenges, that could be anywhere between 4-7 XP boosters a week.
I def have not gotten to level 25 yet. But to OPs point, I do intend to keep my pace casual this season now that I know how quickly I can crush a hundred levels. So yes, most of my play time will be concentrated around events and any weeks with decent rewards.
