This is a thread about how there is now ranking system in Halo 4 and i’m sorry that i’m adding to the pile however i don’t plan on ranting about my personal feelings at all.
I’m trying to figure out why 343 is against the ranking system. They know that a large group of players want it and they have the ability to put one into the game, i doubt money is an issue. Maybe it’s because of all the “boosting” and “cheating” that went on in the past ranking systems however it’s very easy to deal with that issue by banning the cheaters or patching the game. Even if they decided not to enforce any rule at all like what Bungie Basically did for Reach it would still be a better idea to have a ranking system with flaws instead of no ranking system at all, right? And if the ranking system is just so terrible and starts to ruin the game they could always just take it out if everyone hates it, right?
I’m asking for anyone and everyone who reads this thread to help me, tell me your opinion on why they will not add some form of traditional ranking, one of you must know the answer or have a logical idea so i can put my mind to rest.
Just one post will do, no wrong answers here.
I don’t think anyone understands their reasoning. No ranking system (invisible ranking system) causes more problems than a visible one.
Lol, I don’t even get anything about the ranking system. I don’t even know why this is such a big deal.
Well they need to make a whole new ranking systeme like BPR. Halo 3’s ranks was mostly based on win lose think. That ranking system is no better than progression if you ask me. I don’ see why peope want a number next to their name. actually you got a number next to your name. I guess people like to compare that’s the only reason people would care about visable true skill rank.
No ranking system- Silly idea
Ranking System with all-visible ranks- Better idea but then you have those issues
Ranking system that others can’t see but you can- All the advantages of above, but less problems. Still keeps people playing and leveling up.
And so far, evidence points to #3.
The only people who would be disappointed are the real hardcore complainers here.

Hmm just about every person I know and play with is pissed as hell with 343 over this news. If you want a simple social ranking system like reach you have it, but why cant we have a visible rank as well? if you dont like it you dont have to play those playlists.

HE already explained, there is absolutely no difference between the ranking systems that you want and we are getting, besides a visible number. That’s it. No change in scripts or systems. You will be getting the same experience, except now people won’t be tempted to delevel, boost, or sell accounts etc. because of that stupid silly number that makes them feel “special” as if they actually accomplished something that ANYBODY other than themselves and the obsessed, care about. So what exactly is the problem again?
I read what you all said. Many of you got a little bit off topic but i understand the most of it.
You guys are like me, we just can’t put together a logical meaning behind this.

Because Aggressive, Really good players want to get rewarded for playing their hearts out against a team of equal skill. Gives you a sense of accomplishment

You will be rewared. “Invisible Ranks” is a misnomer: they’re perfectly visible to you. When you get a 50, you can see the 50 and say “Yay, 50”
