honestly i’m just at rally point charlie on infinity on normal (just playing for the story at the moment) and i can honestly say this game isn’t hard, it’s cheap
admittedly not as cheap as most “realistic” shooters where the enemy always know where you are no matter what there’s still some really bad stuff already
stalkers, on normal they take over half your shield in one melee hit and if you melee them first or second (to counter) you still take full damage
knights, teleport to you and instantly melees you, although 70% of the time they won’t do it that other 30% of the time is still a big pain especially when there’s no indicator what they’ll do when they teleport whether it be shoot, melee or retreat also their -Yoink!- instant kill lazer eye beam attack
those flying things, still don’t know their name >.>’
strong as hell, they take so much damage and just don’t go down it’s honestly easier to kill knights then these dudes one on one and it makes no sense
elites, a joke and sooooo easy to take down i’m disappointed
hunters, not really complaining but they feel like they got quite a buff health wise because the 2 you see at the end of level 2 just didn’t want to go down
halo 3, 3odst, reach i all did solo legendary and i never felt that anything was cheap, there was always a way around things but not here…

Im playing my first time through on legendary but its not cheap (finished infinity last night)
The flying things take 5 shot with dmr/light rifle which isnt bad , i always try to take them down before i even go near knights as they cause so many issues lol.
The knights have never teleport insta killed me, they can teleport within a few feet tho on the last checkpoint before cutscene and location change. But i find having a good position on the map really puts them off charging at you, and if they do its one at a time.
The dog things are a pain, but using an uncharged boltshot round seems to one shot them easily and the fact they drop ammo for it makes these sections easy!
I wouldnt be put off, if you can do Reach/3/ODST youll be able to manage this, its harder but not in a cheap way just takes some thought!
if you kill one enemy with each life you’ve killed them for good, in campaign you need to battle through a hundred or more between each check point and if any one of them kills you you reset to the previous checkpoint
also spartan ops has matchmaking and is only on heroic now
I am almost halfway through. All you need to be is resourceful with weapons and have some patience. If you find a needler you are good as golden.
Sure some areas I’ve got almost no ammo left and would die quite a few times but beating each level on solo legendary is satisfactory and every areas has ways out fo them or places you can completely bypass by running through. Also considering I’ll get the solo achievement and Mark VI armor in the end.
Everything else will be so easy after that if I play campaign again with friends lol
Played through Solo-Legendary yesterday and I completely agree.
(You won’t see it on the waypoint bit as my internet cut out on mission six, but you can check my achievements)
I had multiple instances of Knights just popping up next to me to melee me to death. I’d rather not talk about the insta-kill binary rifle. That thing is just annoying.
The enemies aren’t difficult due to intelligence, they’re difficult because they’re bullet sponges, that can kill you in a mere blink if they decide to.

Enemies do not respond, you can sit back and kill them before advancing. There is only one exception when you have to turn on a shield but thats all.
I beat the game on Solo Legendary in about 10 hours. Slow and steady, knights are the only thing that are hard to kill everything else dies from a headshot from boltshot, dmr, carbine, light rifle.
It isnt cheap, its different, you will need to use your head cause it is what they said; its a whole new game. I am playing on Heroic and sometimes I had some hard areas to cross, after dieing a couple off times I figured out how to pass a certain area. The behaviour is somewhat different then what we where all used to in previous games and so are the weapons.
I think 343i really did a good job, they made the game new and fresh in a good way and… its still Halo.
