No. While there are still AI bosses, the main goal is for your team to be the first to 1000 points. You do that by killing bosses, killing other players, and holding down bases (of which there are 3), or destroying the enemies’ core. You get the opportunity to destroy the enemy core when your team holds all three bases. As the game goes, the teams will steadily gain points from killing players and holding at least one base until someone reaches 1000 points, in which case, the game ends…
In Firefight, everyone is on the same team trying to kill AI for five rounds while Warzone is more like regular Halo where you have two teams trying to beat each other by doing what Afro explained.
Your best bet is to watch a few youtube videos to get a feel for it. LTN has good tutorial videos I myself found helpful so hopefully you do too! Then you can just go down the youtube rabbit hole of WZ vids. Then jump into a game & things will be a little more familiar.
