In all honesty i thought the campaign was great. It could have been better. Combat wise, it was pretty good; but, canon-wise, not so great. The whole point of Reach was just stupid. It didnt go along with the book, wasnt canon at all; they left some of it wide open and left me with questions (like what happened to Dr. halsey’s escort), and just how it lacked a lot of big combat situations.
When i read the article in Gameinformer about Reach i thought there was going to be huge combat scenes with more than thirty AI in one setting, yet i was wrong and disappointed.
There were some good missions though and they incorporated a lot of things into them, especially the mission where you have to go throughout the city in a Falcon, i thought that mission was amazing. And how they introduced space combat as well, simply amazing.
But even then the campaign was not what it lived up to be despite its amazing ending.
But i believe the Halo 4 campaign will either be really good or really bad. One or the other. Since there is no covenant left and the forerunners encountered flood, i believe we will be seeing a lot of that in the campaign.
Also, he probably will be running around the world/city piecing together clues and doing little tasks in a course of rising action that slowly pieces together a huge storyline that explains everything in its final climax. Im excited really.
Every Halo (except for ODST) weve fought campaign levels on forerunner structures and now we finally get to play on their homeworld.
For all we know it could be like ODST and you find items that inhibit flashbacks to moments in the past and we get to PLAY as forerunners.
The possibilities really are endless. All we know is that the storyline is being put together and encoded right now as we speak, along with the multiplayer.
We’ll have to find out come holiday season (:
