Ok, so at first I was really really hating the new changes and i now know why. Because I was scared of them. It was too much to take in all at once and I felt kinda hopeless for Halo 4, but as my day went on and I thought more about it and talked with friends, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t hate it, it’s going to be like Halo Reach where we had to adapt to the changes and fell in love with it, It will still feel and be Halo just with a little new twist to it. Everyone says how that CoD is the same and when will fans realize they’re playing the same -Yoink- over and over, well from what i’ve been reading in the forums. It seems that the community WANTS Halo to be like CoD…and NEVER CHANGE ! when in fact 343i is actually trying to give it more of the fictional feel and have it go more in depth to the universe. We have to keep in mind people, unlike bungie, 343 like to go deep into the story of Halo, and TRUE Halo fan’s can appreciate that. So even though I strongly believe that they should still hold a beta, and that Forerunner Vision is going to SUCK HARD ! I’m more than pumped for the next installment of the Halo Universe. Bring it on 343 ! keep up the work !
My thoughts exactly. I won’t care what they add in Halo 4, Killstreaks, Iron Sights etc,
UNTIL I ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME.
But you can assume that stuff like the above would be terrible for the game…
i kinda don’t think killstreaks or iron sights or ANYTHING from CoD should EVER be implemented into halo, but I know you were using them as examples and I understand completely.
nothing to fear then fear itself.
Agreed with above we need to wait till we can jump to conclusions.
Is it ok for me to be a li’l disappointed there’s no Firefight?

That’s my problem right there. It’s pretty darn clear from my perspective that a great many people weren’t at all happy with Reach. I have logged more Halo 3 games in the past 18 months than Reach games, because I genuinely have more fun on Halo 3. Many of my friends have just moved on to different games, because Reach wasn’t something we could adapt to, it just didn’t offer us any enjoyment.
And this “adapt” argument doesn’t really make sense to me. Did I adapt to use the AAs and unbalanced weapons in order to win? Yes. I achieved Onyx in my first (and only) 3 seasons. Did I begin noticing the absurdity and exploitative nature of some of the “new” mechanics? Yes. I adapted to play Reach the way Bungie clearly intended it to be played at a “competitive” level. The trouble was that it just wasn’t fun for anyone who actually wanted to compete, achieve new levels, win, improve and actually match other players that were of a similar skill.
In my opinion, there are many Halo fans out there that were extremely disappointed with Reach. And from the sight of this forum, they’re clearly despairing over the direction Reach v2 - I mean Halo 4 - is taking!
I understand that some people couldn’t adapt and went back to Halo 2 Wizen, but you also have to look at it from this perspective too. If halo’s multiplayer remained the same every single game. It would be no better than CoD and it would get boring.
I personally think the biggest asset that Halo has is its individuality. The strange gravity effect, the weapon balance, the bombastic weapons, the recharging shields, the elaborate and beautiful maps.
Stripping away the unique core aspects of the franchise and making it fall in line with Battlefield, CoD and all the other generic shooters isn’t going to improve Halo. It’ll only destroy it one bad sequel at a time.
who’s to say Halo 4 is going to be garbage anyway ? none of us have played it yet, we also all have to keep in mind that this is 343i’s first MAJOR game. sure they have good footing set for them by bungie. but they will learn from their mistakes and Halo 5 and 6 will hopefully be even better.

All of it still there…since they can edit the gametype to not include them…
On-Topic: Agreed. We should hold up on the hate for the time being.
