I stopped playing this game in February and coming back on to this game. I got to say I’m impressed with what everything 343 has done. I’m surprised there isn’t more people after all the updates they have done to matchmaking. I can say I’m a supporter of halo 4 again.
Yes it’s better than what it was at launch however it’s still horribly flawed at it core…read this thread as to why people quit playing it or don’t play it much. https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst228209_Why-did-so-many-people-quit-H4.aspx
Most of the people that I know that stopped playing traded the game in so it doesn’t really matter what 343 does with updates.
Yeah, they’ve changed a lot for the better. But the fact that it was built from the ground up to be a “modern” shooter combined with the fact that it’s way behind almost all of the other games in features makes it feel like kind of a watered down experience no matter how much they tweak it. Like a fan mod or something.

Which speaks to the importance of getting the major things right the first time.

I’m right with you! A few weeks ago after playing Halo Reach for a while I decided to see what 343 has done to Halo 4. I was impressed:
- more playlists such as BTB, richocet
- less lagging
- more skilled/fair players
- faster killing
The improvements 343 has made has really changed the game for the better.
However, i agree that there are less players on the game now. Unfortunately I think 343 made to many early bad impressions to many fans, and are reluctant to go back to Halo 4. Or many have sold it away.
The rebalanced weapons helped, along with better dlc maps.

and not waiting 6 months to make changes.
Totally agree OP and well said. I really look forward to Halo X1 with dedicated servers, 60fps and what they have ready at launch after all the changes to Halo 4 since it launched.
Things are play very good these days and we could be in for a real treat come next gen Halo.
They did a fine job of fixing it, but with their next title they need to work on swiftness of patching. Some things came too late. I have hope in the that xbox one will supposedly give devs easier and faster ways to patch and update their games.

Agree!
Halo 4 is 100x better than when it first launched and more people, even on my friend’s list are coming back.
The overall majority, ran out of patience but the true, hardcore fans are still circling the nest. 343 deserve credit where credits due. Bungie took just as long to patch Halo 2 yet people stuck around for it.
I think 343’s biggest mistake was the lack of in-game 1-50, the infinity settings and the short SR system.

The updates have certainly made Halo 4 a more enjoyable game, but the way I see it 343’s efforts were too little and far too late. I don’t blame the people who left and never looked back, as 343 were mediocre custodians of matchmaking. That said I do have faith that 343 learnt from this experience.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure your not allowed to promote your own thread in other peoples…
Now, for the OP…
I gotta agree, I stopped playing the game back in May, nd when I came back it felt loads better gameplay wise…
Then I saw 1 problem That was magnified beyond relief, LAG…
Lag, stopping people from enjoying games since 1996
