If everyone is right about the leaked cover art being post war…then that means Serena should have hit rampantcy and would be no longer around. Im very disappointed.

Im going yo guess she wasnt powered down. The ending of Halo Wars 1 you hear her voice waking up the captain. Also with everyone but a skeleton crew in cryo im betting she had to monitor the ship

Sounds about right, I remember Cortana doing the same for Master Chief.
If Cortana can inexplicably come back to life, then I am sure she can do as well. The power of the plot is amazing.
I liked her as a character, but if its set way beyond Halo Wars, I hope she is not still around, otherwise it would just be weird.

I think Serina will stick around for a while due to her importance in the story.
It’s likely that she is dead or about to die but I did have a theory. What if she sides with Cortana because she has a cure for rampancy. It is a good enough reason although I hope it doesn’t happen.

That would interesting if Rogue Cortana was linked to the HW2 story line. This would tie HW2 to the rest of the story line.

Well, we don’t know if Phoenix class assault ships have a back up so system, if they did the retina could just assign basic monitoring and matenance to the secondary so then power down unroll something interesting happens. This would explain why she would be alive since an powered down smart ai can potentaly go on forever just like a dumb ai.
She may be close to the same state of cortana maybe she will join cortana? if the game takes place during the halo 5 timeline.

this is true plus it has stated that Halo Wars 2 will follow on from Halo wars 1 but should go all the way upto Halo 5

Well she doesn’t actually say they found something. The exact quote from her “Captain wake up. Something has happened.” I can explain this part though. What she refers to is the Brute Chieftain raiding them. That really short scene Serena says that line takes place 3 years after Halo Wars 1. The HW 2 trailer is similar to this sequel idea that was revealed a year ago so it could mean that HW 2 takes place year 2534, 3 years after HW 1 and with that Serena is still alive and well. I actually don’t remember how long Serena has been activated and if it’s mentioned anywhere. If it’s over 7 years she could very well be rampant unless she has tried to delay it.
If the game does take place at the same year Halo 5 does then Serena is screwed. That is over 20 years and in Escalation
Spirit of Fire is shown drifting in space. The alarm saying “Abandon Ship” is going. Every cryo tube is empty and you see a Flood infection form go from cryo tube to cryo tube. I don’t think they slept in those cryo tubes for that long. They could have left some time ago and it does look like they did and the ship is drifting in space still with only a few Flood forms on it. Not enough to create a proto Gravemind and to repair the ship to go wherever. That is my speculation. That they left some time ago and the ship has been drifting in space without them but with some Flood forms onboard. Assuming 343i goes with the original sequel plan. Anders woke up 30 seconds after she went into cryo sleep to trick the captain so he would enter cryo sleep as well but continue being there so she could study and learn where they ended up after HW 1. Anders has been up all the time. If Flood entered SoF I’m sure Serena would notice at some point and warn Anders who is up with Forge that got onboard at some point. Don’t know when they found Forge but during those 3 years at least. They could abandon SoF quicker since not everyone are sleeping. Anything is possible when it’s about the Flood though.To be honest. A lot is possible. It can play out after Halo 4 and 5 and during. Don’t forget though that Halo Wars is a seperate story in the Halo universe which means it can easily play out in timelines that has nothing to do with the events of Halo CE up to Halo 5. If the game starts out in the year 2534, it’s still 18 years before Halo Combat Evolved and that would be fine because it is Halo Wars. It does not have to connect to the other main stories. Don’t see what i say as something to beat down the possibility of the game being played out during Halo 5 and such. Much is possible, well depends if Red team is alive during Halo 5 i guess. I’m just pointing out the possibilities.
