I’m glad that 343i has taken over the Halo franchise, and are expanding the Halo lore and continuing the series that I’ve loved for the past 8+ years. I’m glad that their contributions to the series have been well recieved and other people enjoy what 343i has done with Halo as much as I do.
I’m glad that they’ve changed Halo into what we have now. You see, back in the old days of Halo, skill based Matchmaking was a competitive and fun way to show who was the best of the best. But I was horrible at those games, and so unfortunately I didn’t always have a lot of fun playing against good players. Now, I can kill anybody and everybody, even if they’re better than me! And that’s so awesome! I’m glad that you introduced gimmicks that allow me to -Yoink- my way out of getting killed. I’m glad you made it so Power weapons cycle, and gave us Armor Abilities to keep me from getting spawn trapped. I’m glad you completely destroyed the concept of map control, a concept I could never grasp. I have to time power weapons and setup and coordinate with my team to win? Not anymore thank Jesus! I have to learn map callouts and have a basic understanding of map flow? Not now! And Halo is better for it.
I’m glad that 343 made so many innovations, and didn’t listen to input from the community regarding whether they were good or welcomed. I’m glad they just decided to keep all the components of Reach, (which was a craptacular game by the way!) and roll with them, despite them changing Halo’s core gameplay. Arena style gameplay is so outdated! I want more gimmicks like perks and weapon and armor unlocks that give me an edge over lower ranked players, rather than playing a balanced, fair game where everyone has equal opportunity. And Skill based ranking systems? Pffff…only for people who care too much about Video games. I hate people like that, who always have to brag about their rank and how much better they are than me. It’s good that now instead of having to improve myself, I have crutches to fall back on, and a leveling system that’s just made for people like me who just want to have fun! Now no one is better than anyone else, and were all Halo masters!
So in conclusion, thank you 343i. Thank you for making Halo better and more fun. I hope you’ll continue to make great changes to Halo. I hope Halo 5 and 6 will be just as good as Reach and Halo 4, and in fact, I hope you make Halo 7, 8 and 9! Why stop when there’s still so much more you can put in? Maybe in the next trilogy, you can make it so everybody wears a super Spartan suit that can’t be damaged, and instead of the classic shooter that Halo is now, it can be a racing game like Mario Kart. Now that’d be a real fun game!
