…why is it so underpowered compared to the rest of the weapons in Halo 4?

Both the DMR and the Lightrifle are so much better than the BR! The DMR is more precise since it is a one shot and the Lightrifle is the best of both worlds!

I’m not sure why 343i would even bring it back if they thought making it a 5sk was a good thing, they should have made it a 4sk so it would have a trait that makes it effective.It doesn’t have a single thing over either of the other precision weapons!

The only reason anyone would even use it is because of nostalgia, which is very unfortunate.

It’s close range rifle that beats the DMR if close.

Battle rifle is pretty op’d for mid range, and dmr dominates at long range… I, however, will be using my weapon of choice from Halo 2 and 3 - the Carbine :smiley:

It may be because 4sk would probably make it OP. I could be wrong though.

DMR = Destroys at long range

BR = Destroys at close range

LR = Destroys

From what i’ve seen, so is the Lightrifle, and zoomed in it is 4sk at Mid to Close range, so there is still no reason to use the BR.

We’ll just have to see which is better to use. I think it will come down to preference really.

The Light Rifle has greater spread than the Battle Rifle, so at close range the BR’s more likely to win.

The light rifle is great at close and great at far range.

But it sucks at medium range as its burst spread is horrible

  1. it would be stupid to zoom in at close range
  2. the BR is better at close and maybe mid. all depends, sucky players will be better with the BR but great players maybe better with LR

Don’t worry, I’ll support the pro AR movement. Together, we will pown those n00bs so hard, that they will wish that they could have an AR to use for those epic CQC situations.
