Because in my opinion it had the worst maps in the Halo franchise. The only “good” maps were remixies of old maps. Also the majority of the reach original maps were forge maps (and yes, halo reach has more forge maps than halo 5).
Yay, less maps is always better!
They could’ve at least included forge world, which they were working on pre launch but couldn’t make the deadline.
There were several good maps in Reach. Zealot, Countdown, Powerhouse, just to name a few. I would have loved to see a remake of one of these maps. Or what about the BTB maps? Tempest and Highlands were also fantastic.
Yeah… less maps the better! Screw variety.
Reach did have good maps, how they’d play out in Halo 5 would be another thing.
Boneyard would have been an amazing Warzone map imo, Spire for BTB, Swordbase, Countdown, that one asian hotel map I cant remember the name of, the one with all the glass.

Agreed, Reach had a few really nice maps, and I think 80+% of the Reach maps are still memorable in my mind to this day. I can only remember like 3 Halo 4 maps lol.

Haven and Ragnarok were my favorites
And ragnarok was just a remake lol
Reach had the best maps other than Halo 3.
Reach only had a couple Forge maps at launch. The rest were regular maps. Most of the maps you’re thinking of are ones made by the community that were added to matchmaking.
Actually, i think Sword Base would play pretty well in H5 given that yellow lift room had a glass wall you could see through to stop camping or something
You know what? You guys are, halo reach had decent maps. Maybe it was the awful gameplay that halo reach had. But like I said the majority of the maps are forge maps. Also halo reach maps, the some, ARE BASED AROUND THE CAMPAIGN.
So halo reach had:
Maps based around the campaign
Majority of the maps are forge
And some of them look bland
I’m sorry but I’m stating my point that I don’t want any halo reach maps in halo 5.
One final thing, WERE THE HELL DID YOU GUYS READ THAT I WANT LESS MAPS!? In fact I actually want more map variety, but halo reach maps won’t work
Technically, Bungie made the multiplayer maps and then inserted them into specific points in the campaign, possibly to create a more immersive experience by having you think that you are fighting in places where major battles were fought in the Halo Universe. I also think that the Reach maps were pretty well made but it wouldn’t work in Halo 5 unless the maps are distorted to accomodate unlimited sprint, and clamber.
Hey a remake of a map from Reach is far better than a -Yoink!- remix of a map released three months ago
Nobody ever said Stasis wasn’t a Reach map built for H5 gameplay with a new name did they ?

No but the teaser sure does screams it
I would’ve much preferred a Reach map rather than taking a map that we already have, adding some ice, and then giving it back to us again. A remixed Reach map would’ve been better by far.
Still would have liked to see the Spire. Other than that, I don’t care as much.
Are some of you people really calling maps like swordbase good?
On a scale of one to even, I can’t
Reach’s (vanilla) maps where ghastly. Some of the DLC ones where alright but then again I only managed to play them once or twice if I was lucky.

Where are you getting the majority of maps are Forge? Halo: Reach had about six Forge maps at launch. The rest of the launch maps (more than six) were non-Forge. Also, they were made as multiplayer maps first, then put into the campaign.
The only good reach maps were the dlc maps. Which a lot of people didn’t get to experience. Damn shame.

It’s possible that ‘less’ maps is indeed better. If 343 added 10,000 new maps to Arena, it’s likely people would complain about not being able to play their favourites very often.
10,000 is a ridiculous number, but you need to ask yourself what the optimal number of maps in circulation is. We may already have close to that number. In my opinion it would be more beneficial to the halo community to emphasise quality over quantity so we have a decent amount of maps that are well suited to the particular playlist.
