On twitter Joe clarified something he said about the engine.
“.Glad this clip is out for all to see. To clarify one thing I said: “engine” was my metaphor for the whole #HaloInfiniteMP live service. That engine is revving—and we’re very excited to share Season 2 details soon.”
When I listened to that clip originally I was like “Oh, they got the game engine working correctly and it’s not a hot mess”
Nope, still a hot mess. But at least it’s an honest post as far as 343 posts go.
I mean, if the live service is “revving” that would lead me to believe that the engine is better than “hot mess” now

Yeah, I mistakenly hoped for a brief second that they were actually listening to how broken their game engine is (particularly with regard to the trash netcode) and were going to fix it.
But nope. They’re just revving up some more mtx for season 2 
Really? how many times have we heard from 343i and they said something was fixed?

Joe is probably the only reason that the game is this good (that’s the point right there) so if he says something, Ima trust it.
(still waiting on the roadmap though, but like he said in the interview, they are only talking when they KNOW something is happening, so kind of sad that they can’t give him any info as to what their plans are, because they don’t know if they can do it)
