I was playing a free for all slayer match online on halo 5, I was doing so well!! I won the match (1st place) but as soon as It went to the victory animation my screen says connection lost, and now I am banned from playing matchmaking for 15 minutes. Very frustrating I hope 343 fixes this.
I’ve had this issue for like 4 days, I’m on the winning team, dominating then at the last few kills of every match, the game coincidentally disconnects, and what’s amazing is that it’s always when I’m winning, never when losing.
I’m too skilled so the game kicks me out, I see now
Just kidding, but however it does usually do it when I’m doing really well. Kinda angers me.
If someone reported you for Quitting the game in the end of the match, you definitely will receive a bann.
The people don’t know - you Quiting or have a Server issue.

Seems to be happening to more and more people the last few days. Luckily for myself none of the lost connection errors have shown as DNFs, so no ban so far. I doubt if a fix is in the works when most responses to these topics are trained monkeys spamming the Ban thread to bury the issue.

I’ve noticed a recent spike in complaints about the servers and specifically about frequent disconnects. I don’t think the entire communities’ individual networks or connections have suddenly gotten worse. I have great cable internet and an ethernet connection. I never had a problem with DCs before, but it’s happened twice in a couple days now, and both registered as DNFs. I went back and watched the video from one game (we were winning 35 -29) and you can see multiple, active players (all random solos) get simultaneously dropped by the server. We lost 38-35, the game ended up 1v1, seven players got a loss, and six got DNFs. That’s the type of experience that causes people to abandon the game. Especially when they get slapped with a ban because of it. Furthermore, when legitimate complaints get labeled quitters, stuffed in a bucket and get no attention it only assures more players will leave the game, but in the meantime… yes it’s normal.
The way the game is set up now it’s inevitable that if you play enough you will suffer being randomly disconnected. If you play enough it will happen more than once. If it happens too frequently you will get a ban. It’s part of the game right now, take it or leave it.

You know you have four DNFs in your last twenty games. And you were not “doing so well!!” in any of those. Are you saying those were all dropped by server disconnects?

Power Cord disconnects
Go to settings/network and check your NAT type in the middle of the screen. If its moderate or strict you get disconnects randomly. It has to be type Open. If its open then its probably 343 servers. The last couple of days I’ve gotten disconnects, which I rarely get.
