I'm fine with 8 missions

While I hope that there would be a little more, I think that 8 missions will be fine.

Terminals will tell us more about the world we are on, while skulls will add more fun to the game itself.

I’m sure they’ll be relatively long missions, like the assault on the control room or the library. Campaign is very enjoyable when you have friends to play it with, and i’m sure these 8 missions will be slammed packed with a lot of content that will make it repayable for a very, very, long time.

It’s been confirmed that the missions are going to longer than we’ve seen before, sometimes playing in multiple environments with multiple objectives.

If the campaign missions are like Reach then it will suck hard.

This should be a complete non-issue as we have no idea how long each mission is.

> If the campaign missions are like Reach then it will suck hard.

Indeed

The simplest answer is that the missions themselves are a lot longer.

> If the campaign missions are like Reach then it will suck hard.

i doubt it, i think Reach’s missions were confusing, you were here for one second then you’re at a different location the next second. I think bungie tried to emphasize that the war was all over the planet, but didn’t do a very good job of explaining how you got from point A to point B.

I don’t think that’ll be the case because you’re following the chief’s journey on the planet. I think it will be more fluent than Reach’s campaign because you’ll know where the chief is and how he gets from point A to Point B without being very confusing

I’m extremely excited to unlock the terminal, “Chief’s record”!

I sence long missions, a la Halo 1/2

Hopefully they aren’t as dull as some of those missions (Zips up)

8 long missions sound fine to me!

as long as each mission is an hour long with a one or two longer ones ill be happy. but i have a feeling that there is no way the first mission (aboard the FUD) is going to be ANY LONGER than 45 mins. as long as the campaign reaches 10 hours im happy. in order to do that (lets suppose Mission 1 is 30 mins), one mission must be like 1.5 hours, another two must be 2 hours, and the rest have to be 1 hour. DO IT 343i

It’s not the number of missions, but how long they are that matters. I’m good with eight as long as they’re beefy.

8 seems pretty short, but hopefully the length of each mission will compensate for it. With all of the other things you can do in Halo 4, I’m not worried.

Eight long - TWSS.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the Campaign regardless. I know I’ll be playing it over and over again. I just LOVE to explore in campaign. So as long as the missions span a big area I’m going to be very happy. I think I’m going to be happy anyway though. It’s a new Halo!

there’s more than eight combat environments so missions will definitely have more than one location per in them.

AAAhhh assault on the control room. One of my favourites. If the missions are even 2/3s that long I’d be happy…thinking about it, they could’ve made 2 missions out of that right?

Where did you hear that? Personally the idea of longer missions but not as many seems better than having several short missions.

As long as the missions are longer, I’m happy. As great as ODST and Halo 3 were, they were 6 hours long… Hopefully 343 is aiming a bit higher, length-wise. 8-10 hours would be great.
