I play Halo for the fiction. The multiplayer is just a bonus for me. That said, after dropping over $800 on Halo 5: Gaurdians for preorder material, I felt ripped off. The story sucked and felt like they were trying too hard to give fan service and not expand the fiction properly. I loved the multiplayer of Halo 4. But this one bothered me to no end.
However, I’m finally starting to like it. Heroic Warzone Firefight is my favourite thing to play. Especially wish the matches starting off with me falling in a drop pod! Add Spartan Edward Buck’s voice as an announcer, and now I truly feel like an ODST dropping in to get -Yoink- taken care off! I love this now. Thank you 343 Industries. You finally pulled it off.

On the subject, I’m glad you’re finally enjoying the game. I haven’t tested the waters with heroic FF yet, I tend to prefer facing Spartans more than AI.

The multiplayer was too hardcore for me. Yes, I said it, I’m more of a casual player. I work a lot. 60-70 hours a week. But I’m a huge Halo fan. And i thought I’d love Halo 5. Halo 4 went above and beyond what I thought they could do. Plus the Champions Bundle gave me the ODST armour set which was amazing. But Halo 5 was too much for pro players and not casual ones like me when it comes to multiplayer. And let’s face it, the story on there could use a lot of work. I was expecting John-117 to be portrayed as a villain the whole time, while he searched for clues like in Halo 3: ODST. All while Jameson Locke would visit the stages he had been at, searching for him, ending the game in a no holds bar fight against the two of them, and with weapons and fist fighting. But instead Cortana is the enemy and the fight between John and Locke was poorly done. So yeah, add that to the fact that Multiplayer wasn’t fun for me, I felt disappointed.
But Firefight is fun. The fact they are bringing back loads of old weapons is fun. The Grunt Goblin is intimidating and hilarious at the same time. I am finally enjoying myself. So basically, I’m glad it’s finally working out.
