IGN attacked halo 5’s trailers and is putting Sony commercials up and it’s pissed me off I don’t care about what the trailers said they were just used to stir the pot and get people talking. You don’t tell everyone that they lied to people just before the launch of a game that amounts to an attack when people who aren’t massive or even passing fans read it and go oh well I won’t play this then. Gah I’m done.

Btw the game is awesome maybe not what you expected but still awesome.
Good to hear that the game is awesome.
Well he was right, wasn’t he?

So you should be able to say Kingdom Hearts featuring Tron and Frozen levels in ads but then not have those worlds in game?
Despite IGN’s reputation, they are on the mark about what to expect from the campaign. Whether you will enjoy it or not, the game is not what the marketing lead us to believe.
To me, its Halo and I will always love it over Sony’s garbage, besides Final Fantasy and other JRPG’s though I rarely paly them nowadays.

What the hell does this have to do with IGN telling people that the Halo 5 marketing is misleading?

It’s not that he was wrong it’s the way he puts it. like you should be mad about it but its marketing plenty of people have done things to stir the pot. Plus it’s already been said that the commercials we see are ONI propaganda so basically you’re seeing what ONI wants you to see. Not what actually happened and it’s not the first time look at 3’s trailers those things didn’t happen in the game but there was no “they lied to you and the game is completely different than that”
they were called amazing commercials. But instead of mentioning any of the points he bashes the trailers. The commercials were awesome in my opinion but I’m a die hard halo fan who has faith in 343 to do an at least decent halo game and they did great. But you don’t go on a sight like IGN and expect such a thorough bashing before launch with out any positives like they lied but the game still plays great.
I just read the article and it feels like he’s reaching pretty hard. I suppose I haven’t felt the desire to pay too much attention to the trailers and read into it as much as he did.
Most of the -Yoink- we see on tv, yt, and in the press is generally following some bias or prerogative. This to me felt like he was really just riding the wave of gaming industry mistrust to grab the current spotlight.
just play the game and enjoy or hate it because you did, not because someone told so.
Yea from what I’ve seen halo looks like a really good game can’t wait for it’s release.
just now? ign sucks. i only look on there for actual announcements
Ign are aware of this and Microsoft marketing has been doing it since Halo 2. Let’s look at the big picture, what they’re saying is true and it’ll get clicks and they’ll be doing it again for Halo 6 when it happens again. BIG DEAL. Atleast it isn’t like the days of Halo 2 where they had cut or early versions of levels in the marketing that never made it in.

LOL IGN is a JOKE!! a long with most other gaming sites. Are you JUST figuring that out? oh I feel bad for you bud, lol I only go to IGN and many others for news aka info. I don’t give two s#%ts about reviews, or what they have to say.
Its just for clicks, its a business and they are competing against a flooded marketplace of so many blogs, YouTube channels and other gaming sites for your click through rates in order to show high numbers to potential marketers and get them to place ads on the site. So many things people are getting mad about they shouldn’t and wouldn’t if they just realized, everything and I mean everything in this world is about making a profit and benefiting the bottom line and the individual self. You go in with that understanding and life is far less upsetting, its just the way of the world.
If someone’s opinion of Halo is steered away by IGN reviewing Halo 5 trailers, well … too bad for them.
Subliminal adverts, from oni, and he’s taken the bait!
At least it’s not full on gamespot, hyping up the destiny DLC and what not, but forgetting to mention time gates!
I’ve learned a LONG time ago that IGN has great trailers and…that’s IT. Everything else is trash.
