Seriously thought they would stick to the 3 years of development plan, since they have 10 years to expand this next trilogy, but now this Halo is being called Halo 5 everywhere without 5 in it, its disappointing.
My guess they had to since XB1 doesn’t support 360 games, and maybe have been forced into developing this faster than intended to have the halo community join in supporting XB1.
was really hoping just a in between game like ODST kind of game, but again disappointed…
This doesn’t encourage to get a 500 dollar console right away…
I think due to the much larger resources at their disposal (free web based Forward Unto Dawn film, HaloTV series with Steven Spielberg etc. etc.) I think they can produce the next game within 2 years of Halo 4 without rushing it.
I’m really looking forward to it and expect it to be the best Halo yet!

I have to say, it maybe dead expensive, yet don’t be surprised if a lot of ppl actually reserve it. I reserved my recently and paid it in full.
With regards to the halo teaser, i too thought there would be a game in between like a full Spartan Ops/Campaign game w/ Firefight based on our own Spartans, but i don’t think that’ll happen. Also, I don’t think the teaser was actually Halo 5. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a trailer to that “Halo TV” or something like that.
They have an at least 2 and a half year dev cycle on this new game. It started development before Halo 4 was released, who knows how long they’ve had access to X1 technology.
They also have the largest team with access to the most resources in the franchise’s history. 2 and half years is perfect–Halo remains relevant, and they can still develop a solid game.

It’s a game; dedicated servers and 60FPS isn’t a TV show. Plus they said they won’t talk about the show for a very long time.
I was hoping for a spin off myself; but that doesn’t make this a rushed game. 343i have wrapped up what Bungie teased in Halo 3s Legendary ending;leaving them room to build their own story. Thats what makes this more exciting than anything.
Some microsoft woman confirmed it was halo 5 on her twitter (don’t ask).
Destiny has a set up where games are always coming out so i think halo could be following that. I agree that it is way too soon for halo 5 but we don’t know the plan.

They have yet to show they can make a solid game, let alone fix a decent one.
They released Halo 4 is a semi undone state and despite the learning curve with Halo 4 i would still feel more at ease with a 2015 release. I’m almost for the first time in my life against getting the new Xbox due to the obvious and halo 5 will be the only thing to change my mind so PLEASE leave room for polish 343!
Trailer was amazing by the way (I cheered and my brother thought i was a big nerd )

I beg to differ on both accounts. They made a solid game–my least favorite multiplayer in the series, yet overall still a solid, fun game. And they have only ever demonstrated improvements.

Alright let me crack this off: 500 dollars is still high for a console, so i’ll wait it, those who can, more to you then…
Regardless of larger resources, did say they would take another 10 years of Halo, if 5 is out by 2014, and what 6 is out by 2016, what is exactly left to fill up those 4 years? Let’s not forget their rushed on release the dlc that hardly worth investing and special pre-orders backfiring on top of hiring people who hated Halo in some aspects of tradition.
2 and a half, i guess, rather it of been 3 years instead…
it’s fine if they get to expand “their” trilogy but honestly it has to be deeper than 4, and hold my attention better with better fighting A.I.
point taken on having a decent yet in dismay semi fix game than a solid game, needs a beta then, mechanics good, really despised the gimmicks and the “all accessible handicap for new players” they went with, STOP THAT IN 5
all in all skeptical on those dedicated servers, and 60 fps does sound good.
covering all points so far, and still disappointed
if they think that halo will help then so be it but im not buying the x1 for all that game the console will fail when sega jumps back in to making consoles agian then we will see the ps4 battle what even sega has in store.
i think microsoft scewed us all when they made the X1 and i hope it fails and the 360 stays.
How do you know they’re rushing it? How do you know that they haven’t been working on this for 2 years already? Maybe they “rushed” Halo 4 because they we’re working on the new Xbox One title instead of putting all their eggs in the dying console basket.
343 even said that they were as good as finsished with the story, so “all” they have to do is to make the mechanics. They have probably been working with it since the launch of H4 or even earlier.

since the original trilogy, its always been a 3 year cycle with exception of Reach and ODST, now that 5 is coming out in 2014, just shows like Reach wasn’t a successful Halo and they feel the need to step up production and a make a better quality Halo to appease the community or the companies’ image itself
because dropping the price on a game not too soon after its release, releasing all the dlc rather quickly and poor made, and semi fixing the game and only 7 months after 4 has been out 5 is teased already for 2014, plus a pop.of 35,000 says a lot…
let’s not forget the GDC remarks, and the hated tradition team they set up to make 4 are making 5…
The thing I’m worried about is the Matchmaking. There were a ton load of problems with Halo 4 at the start… like the File Browser, Launch Playlists (which SUCKED), boltshot, ranking system (which shouldn’t be CSR in Halo 5, should be reverted to a more clean system with in-game ranks), and a lot more problems… those should all be fixed at the start.
