Alright we all know I DO NOT like Infinite, BUT I am a fair man, and want to give Halo Infinite a fair shot at max power, so there are 3 things that absolutely needed to be implemented in the Winter Update for me to consider giving Infinite a fair chance:
Match XP
Completely fixed custom game lobbies
removal of playlist specific challenges entirely
Match XP will most definitely be making it in because it’s marked on the roadmap. The other 2 I’m not sure about.
Forge without custom games is useless. How are you supposed to PROPERLY field test Forge maps if you can’t get a game with your friends running? Keep in mind I am NOT asking for CGB, just regular private custom game lobbies and settings working properly.
Oh I’m sure they realize how hard this is gonna bite them in the butt once forge releases.
I’m guessing they don’t have CGB ready yet. Otherwise, they’d full send on that update.

Not to be that guy, but just because it’s on the road map, doesn’t mean it will make it into the game. 343i don’t exactly have a track record for fulfilling promises.

Eh probably just tolling or someone who can’t hand the fact that there are people who think Halo Infinite is a legitimately bad game.
Don’t get me wrong Infinite has things I like, BUT the majority of the game is just so, for lack of a better term, FUBAR, that I can’t overlook those issues.

After watching the Winter update video, I’m “feeling” the same way and in the same boat.
But the issue is that if I can not manually select what Server I play on, then I will not even bother trying it. I refuse to try and play PvP when the game will match me in Alberta Canada with some server in Europe at 250+ ms ping times. Based on MCC /H5, the closest low ping server is in Seattle (which are 25 to 30 ms ping times). About 20% of the time my HI game are this low, but the other 80% are just a waste of time.
There is no way I should EVER be connected to Europe when I 'm playing late afternoon to early evening PST - which would be like 1 am to 4 am near the European server.
So unless they have addressed this, 343 wasting there time piling new stuff on when the infrastructure is still broken.
From what I’ve seen and heard, 2/3 will be met. Match XP seems to be going into beta (which pretty much means “We’re officially releasing it, but if something goes wrong it’s a beta”). Custom games browser might not have anything, but I think custom games will get some fixes alongside the content. And for playlist specifics, if memory serves me correct, Ske7ch said that they will be removing them with the arrival of Match XP, and the red reticle is also coming back on PC.
Cool now all we need is a toggle for Crossplay and this game might actually be decent for custom games.
One mode I’ve been interested in trying out is Sewers, Swords and Skewers, but due to how custom games STILL barely works I am unable to do so. Like I said I plan on giving it a month, possibly even to Christmas day to wow me. If custom games can get fixed to a fully functional state then that’s good enough to keep me around for a little while at least.
What 343 really needs to do is make all future battlepasses free. Either have a storefront with free battlepasses or have paid battlepasses and no storefronts.

No Browser was NOT a key missing feature from MCC, it was a new feature eventually added to MCC.
If you don’t have enough friends on Halo to host a private custom match at least once one the weekends then you should probably stick to matchmaking. Custom browser is a new feature to Halo since the end of Halo 5, but it is NOT a necessity to enjoy custom games on the reg.
I’d rather 343 put CGB on the back burner and work on getting Forge and Private custom games fully functional than them trying to rush a half-baked CGB due to the fact this community has the patience of an angry toddler throwing a tantrum.
