I'm Confused

Ok so i was browsing my medals and i noticed that it takes 5 shots to the head to kill with the DMR and only 4 with the BR. Then i looked at the other weapons and the Carbine takes 7 and halo CE pistol takes 3 but heres the confusing part, the normal pistol takes the same amount of shots as the DMR. It seems that a high powered rifle would do more damage per shot than a pistol, but apparently that is not true. Why is this?

Yeah, I’m very new to the arena scene myself in Halo 5. At first, I would pick up a DMR and think I was at a big advantage… Now half the time I just roll with the pistol.

I actually do like it, b/c you start with a nice weapon and can defend yourself unlike some past Halo games that were flawed at the core (AR starts type stuff). I think the Carbine, BR, DMR and pistol have a great balance now. Sometimes I wish the Carbine had a little more pop… But it’s just b/c it’s my favorite weapon in every Halo game (that it’s in).

The DMR has similar performance profiles as the Magnum. But it’s slightly more powerful. You still need 5 shots to kill with the DMR, though.

As a result, you only need 2 shots + melee with the DMR, as opposed to the 3 shots + melee of the Magnum.

Fire rate. Carbine takes the most because it fires at a much faster rate than the others, others are that way also. DMR and pistol being the same must be a result in the fire rate and range somehow making it even, either that or it is practically a power weapon seeing as it is level 6 REQ’s in a Warzone match.
