I'm confused... could you please sort this out for me?

So, I’m confused about halo CEA: Is it the old CE engine with a new graphics engine on top of it, or is it a re-creation/facsimile of the CE engine built in the Reach engine, with a new graphics layer on top of that?

I’m only asking because I’d like to know if the grenade jumping and warthog launching physics are going to be the same, or merely an approximation using a tweaked Reach engine.

It is the old CE engine with a new graphics engine on top of it. Everything should be the same.

I hope so… I’ve seen the ViaDocs where they talk about trying to make the “Halo CEA experience” as similar as possible to the “original Halo CE experience”…

…and I don’t see why you would need to specify that you’re “trying hard” to make the game as similar as possible if you’re using the exact same engine. I mean, it seems to me that you’d have to “try hard” in order to make the experience different if you’re using the same exact engine as far as I’m concerned… so why did they have to “try” to make the games similar?

That’s why I’m confused.

Well they have said numerous times it’s the same engine for the Campaign. You can even switch back to the old verison with a touch of a button. I would watch the halofest panel on H:CEA to get a lot more details.

I’m probably the only one thats wishing they just made a new engine and re-imagined the game. When I first heard about it I thought they would make it even better.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the way it was. (though the environments were very repetitive at times)
