One thing I love about Halo, is that you start your games beginning to end. I know me, and many others hate joining games, that are almost over/being spawn trapped. I’d rather deal with the quitting, then having to put up with joinable games. Even in social playlists, I still despise the idea.
In many cases a certain team gets dominated because of people leaving. If fresh meat enters the team under pressure, it could turn the tide. I’ve witnessed a lot of games which were lost due to quitters, whilst there was quite a chance we would win.
Well that completely -Yoinks!- the leaderboard at the end… I mean it can’t track 40 people if people are quitting and rejoining. Hence why CoDs leader board is so uncompleted, KD and score

Another player will hardly make a difference, if the enemy team has control of all the power weapons, and have the map locked down
I see your point and yes Halo has been like that for it’s entirety but, for a lot of the community this upgrade has been long-awaited. It is quite annoying to have your team quit out on you and know that no-one will be coming to back you up.
Admittedly I play a lot of Invasion, where these kind of things happen. It may not work as well in other playlists.
EDIT: If one team heavily dominates the other the search engine did something horribly wrong. The search engine should just get randoms to fight each other and teams to fight each other. It happens too many times in pretty much any playlist that a team wins because of the teamwork advantage they have over the randoms. I think they added a similar search system to the now extinct squad playlist.
If this were to be implemented, it would already take away a lot of ragequits, lessening the need for joining players and if a player were to join, they would not join a losing battle.

I think that its going to improve gameplay overall. I always hate when people quit games from either team, takes some of the fun out of things.
You should just duke it out until the end whether your team wins or not. Of course if you get kicked out of the game due to a technical issue, I’ve been down that road. My Reach disc got a scratch on it and before I found that out I was constantly being kicked out of games, then another time I kept losing connection to XBox LIVE. I always felt bad for the people on my team when that happened.
