I'm calling it now

Hey thanks for posting the link

I really cant see that BR will work for this game. Is Battle Royale only gonna have BR or power weapons also?
Battle Royale needs to be balanced and the maps and weapons right now are not balanced enough.

Well, Halo 5 put that content out within a year of release. I think people really did expect that we would have a similar update schedule. Which is a huge step down from peoples initial expectations.

I have to once again thank for giving a reference to this speech. It’s truly interesting to see the differences between Halo 5 and Halo Infinite and the differences between these game. It’s without any question far from a trivial process to develop games and this do especially apply to tasks like this. Fundamentally redesigning the engine is far from a trivial task and this do especially apply if the goal is to develop a more robust system that works on a more plethora of devices like PCs where the computing resources aren’t specifically allocate to the game itself in contrast to consols.

It was a fascinating insight.

And I’m sure the effort, and some patience, will be rewarded handsomely going forward.

I think people had much higher expectations this time when 343 said that Halo Infinite was supposed to be a live service game.

It was MS flagship game and they treat it worse than a pile of dog poop.
It also show that MS dont care about the Xbox any more, all they do is buy dead studios and time licenses. MS i pooping on their Xbox customers. Their is no plan to get good AAA games on the market.
If Starfield sucks then Xbox is dead as a brand.

I think the biggest issue it that Halo Infinite needs to work on multiple generations. Thats why its in a really bad state and cant be fixed. Every fix 343 do has to work on multiple generations.

Hmm:thinking::thinking: you do make a valid point here my friend.

Why does it matter?
More maps=bad? Lol
Aren’t we complaining about the lack of maps?

Forge maps isn’t a bad thing. The issue is not wanting a new season to come out with 2 new maps only for them to be forge maps. Remember when 343 bragged about how many maps halo 5 had but most of them were just forge maps.

Forge maps can not be replacements for in house made maps unless all maps are forge maps. We won’t see that any time soon.

343 already stated they have really bad UI issues that’s why they have trouble making changes to the store. They stayed it’s like a cascade effect when they make changes, both UI and net code side.

One change and it trickles problems throughout the games.

It’s why we can’t simply select to purchase individual items while those items are being sold as a bundle.

it sounds easy to do. Ut since their code is. Broken even a simple UI change takes alot of effort

Sandbox, Sandtrap and foundry proved right from the inception of forge that once forge exists, you can do really cool things by building the base of a map with the dev tools and then filling it with forge objects to flesh it out.

Halo Reach on the other hand had forgeworld but because all of the objects had the same silver palette things looked a bit samey.

What I’m hoping is that they build in a good texture system for the forge pieces so we get the best of both worlds, and from now on entirely new maps are still released, but are also built with forge in mind so that if you delete all objects they make interesting canvases to build more forge variants around.

Why though?
Why are they bad?
If they can get quality maps out faster that way, why wouldn’t we want them to do that?

Forge should’ve been available at launch. Same with co-op campaign. The fact those were missing at launch was absolutely appalling and unexcusable. None of the previous games had this issue. And if these werent ready yet then the game should’ve been delayed until they were. Not to mention the number of bugs and how horribly short the campaign was due to a rushed release and cut content. Releasing it before those were ready meant the game was incomplete.

This could’ve made them subject to receiving a class action lawsuit similar to what happened with cyberpunk’s release. If they hadn’t made the multi-player free to play then someone probably would’ve filed suit against them. That probably is what saved them on that part.

But regardless the lack of these features since launch might have killed their relevance. I doubt many players are likely to use forge mode at this point. even fewer still will make genuinely unique and good quality maps. And unless they release a huge expansion on the games campaign i highly doubt many will use the co-op feature either

It was disappointing for sure.

But hey, hyperbole for the win.

Co-op campaign is not THAT important.

Forge probably is? But not to the point of delaying the game any further.

Bugs happen. But it is disappointing some of them are ingrained and proving difficult to fix.

I really liked the Campaign. Could have been another level longer. But was good.

Just needed;

  1. One more biome (a desert, space, or snow level).
  2. A big set piece vs a vehicle (like a scarab).
  3. A warthog run.

More hyperbole.

I really hope you’re wrong. If Forge steps up to next level status from H5… we’re in for a treat. And there are so many talented forgers out there. Throw in better scripting and wow. We just need 343 to deliver a custom browser to bring it all together.

Oh no hyperbole here. I was quite literal in the statement they could’ve received a lawsuit. If they had been missing any more content or had made the multi-player buy to play then yeah, i would assume someone would have pursued them. Not saying 343 would necessarily lose the case if that would have happened. but it wouldnt have been good for their reputation.

I personally plan to use forge and have been waiting for it since launch. I hope it’s really good and i genuinely hope im wrong about not many individuals using forge mode. In the past ive seen some amazing maps made by the community. Though i wont be surprised if 343 uses community maps as a means to not produce a large quantity of company made map content.

Though the missing co-op campaign wasn’t necessarily “important.” But still heavily inappropriate and unheard of for a halo game. It was also very unexpected to be missing a staple key game feature that has been standard in every halo game since combat evolved.

I’m still highly doubtful that these issues are caused by the UI itself due to UI design being a relatively easy part of game development without that many things that may go wrong. Who wouldn’t design a user interface that wasn’t easily expandable for future needs?

343 would, they literally came out and stayed that the UI is pretty broken and any small change to it creates a Cascade affect to other things that is why they can’t just add Playlist was the response they gave.

Ots not that they purposely designed it that way, ots that’s they had so much turnover during development, they would have basically a different person who was hired on from a temp agency working on these things. So imagine someone leaving and someone coming in having to get up to speed and finsihing the last guys work only to leave and have that cycle over and over.

And than they just kept writing over spaghetti code galore. It’s pretty broken on the back end of things.

Must be elevated! HA! Even snoop wouldnt want anything to do with this dumpster fire

Im gunna be honest. I never really cared for any of the forge added maps. I appreciate the effort people give to make them, but they always seem like they are missing a theme and they feel kinda hollow. Kinda like my feelings for infinite. I want it to be good, but theres nothing to grab onto and say i like it.
