Sad to hear. I have no broblem with black people and have many black friends (was only white kid in school for two years). I hate racism of all kind, gaming should be fun for everyone.

Internet anonymity + youthful stupidity = ignorant horror show of obscenities and vulgarities. Racism, xenophobia, homophobia, mysogyny, and probably quite a few other deplorable behaviors are more or less a daily feature of xbox live. I know that doesn’t make it any better, but I’ve been on the wrong end of some random guy’s hate rant and the thing I remember more clearly than anything else is the utter disbelief that anyone could even think that way in this day and age, let alone speak openly of it, anonymously or not. Odds are good it was just some kid trying to bait people out of boredom, but it’s still a little sickening. Mute and report. Just mute and report. That’s all you can do. And know that not everyone in Halo is an ignorant jerk.

Trust me, bro, this affects a lot of people in gaming, not just you. I am sorry that this occurs to you this often. Racism does not have a place in modern Human society, yet some are still suck in the past. Perhaps if this word in particular has not unfortunately become a part of popular slang terms, then maybe things will be different. For the time being, mute/report them as you’ve been doing, and continue playing, my friend.

Dude, you’re playing a game that a LOT of immature children play, and it’s also the internet. This is something everyone has to get used to. And it really can’t be regulated. You just have to grow some thick skin when online. There are -Yoinks!- everywhere. I have no issue with black players at all.
In my region the word -Yoink- is just like calling somebody a bro. But I am not black and I don’t live in a black neighborhood. I just have a really racist friend that got us into it. But anyways that is just plain disrespectul. Next time that happens just report.
