Because honestly you have social playlist for playing with friends ranked shouldnt be for people who want to play with extremely bad players many ranks below them. its ranked take it more seriously

In what way? Is the MMR banding in social too narrow or too broad?
If you have a semi decent KD in social it will balance you by giving you really bad team mates.

As far as I’m aware, BTB has a really broad MMR banding, and if they’re trying to maintain a 50% win/loss then that’s the only way they can do it. I personally hate being used as fodder in this way as you never get a chance to shine.

Think my win/loss is around 40% in btb
As soon as I have a good game & drop 20-30 kills the next 4-5 games I end up with the worst players that go super negative into high double digits.

Commonly play with family and friends outside my CSR. Not willing to play social settings so we will unfortunately have to find something else to play. Hoping 343 will bring back clan matches as a potential solution or a social playlist that mirrors ranked.

If Infinite had a match composer like MCC, I wouldn’t touch the ranked playlist. Now I guess I’ll just play more MCC instead.

It’s the right idea but as usual still way to stretched from the top to the bottom, this still allows manipulation but hopefully they will tighten it up.
One of the biggest reasons for having this is their isn’t enough players to be much stricter and still find a game.
It will never be good enough if you rely on a matchmaker to pick your teammates for you unfortunately. It never is… AI can’t read your minds when it comes to paring people together, and all it takes is one bad teammate to really make or break what could be a good match in 4 vs 4’s. A little more if BTB.
It will just not compare to just picking your own teammates yourself. ¯|(ツ)/¯

At this point in time it would be no worse if SBMM was turned off in social & matchmaking was based on the priority of region/ping & the rest was left to the RNG gaming gods.
Least then when you had a bad game you would know it was just random as apposed to a system on the back end of this game ganking you with brutally bad team mates to even you out cos you had a couple of good games, currently anyone that plays social if they have a good game or two they then get punished for it for the next 4-5 games.
It’s total frustration for anybody that’s half decent & it’s driving them away.
Then what about the ones going heavy into negative double digits with deaths, probably players new to halo playing there first games, I cant imagine the game retains many of them.
SBMM a system that is supposed to be about balance & creating fair games but it’s not working as intended in Infinite.
SBMM at the moment is basically using new players to nerf old players of the franchise and that IMO is absolutely toxic!
Maybe if there was a larger population of players it would function better but there’s not & it’s making the matter worse as no doubt it’s driving players away new & old.
If it’s not working properly cos the population is too low then turn it off before it does more wrongs than good.

This type of matchmaking isn’t fun for anyone.
It isn’t fun for the better players who are forced to hard carry their teammates every game just to try and eke out a win.
And it isn’t fun for the weaker players who still get stomped on every match even if they get to win 50% of the time.
