Im awesome and this is too

how about…when you go to download a file from custom browser or whatever…like if you see this provocative/compellingly named map and you just gotta have it…but wait, theres a created game type that you have to get along with it, and you gotta search for that online too in the browser or whatever. my idea is this: have “package deals” with the custom browser…so if you see a promising map or gametype or whatever…you get any files associated with said map along with it.

BOOM!

(dont know if anyone else came up with this…but thats what i want because i find it annoying having to look up the user/gametype based solely on reading the description of the map…many times i dont even FIND the associated gametype for the map and have to abandon the idea at all [might make custom games more accessible too…at least it would for ME])

Yeah, this would be great. Especially if you could choose the package in-game and play it without having to find both the map and gametype in your HD.

You should be able to group files like maps with gametypes which would make finding custom games much easier as well as giving people the ability to make their own map packs.

I know Bungie had a file set system for file shares but I think it was only available on the website. Great idea.

not sure i know entirely what you mean, but i think what you want (just speculation) is like when in custom games, choose the map, and then another option comes up with the matching gametype if you want to choose it, you do so. if not, just go to a different gametype.

what i want, and i want to elaborate a smidge on my post, is this: when you see a map you like on the custom browser, you choose it, and the option to download the attached mode, be it infection, slayer or whatever, does at the same time.

for example: i see a map for “duck hunter” i choose that map: option to download attached gametype also comes up. choose “yes”

instead of: see a map for “duck hunter” i choose the map: now i have to read the description to find the specific gametype FOR the map, go into custom browser, and search for it, hoping that the gametype is for the map that i just downloaded. and if that doesnt work, i have to search the user, go into fileshare, and download the gametype, if its even there.

i think my idea is viable and more user friendly. thats all.

Great idea
It would make things easier for sure .

This would be such a great addition. The only thing that ruins customs for me in Reach is that I can never find both the map and the gametype.

does 343i do this sort of stuff so late into the build? it would be awesome to see this implemented, and i would be pleasantly surprised if they already thought of this.

Yeah, Bungie allowed us to create “File Sets” to combine maps with accompanying game types, flim clips of the map in action, and screenshots of the map. I’d be surprised if 343 doesn’t include this functionality with their site at some point; it’s a fantastic feature!

haha, tbh i didnt have live for halo 2 (just played split screen with my friend), so i wouldnt know about the features you described, but just from the xbox i’d like this. i dont even get how it would work from the website…

this could even work with like videos that describe the map, and like an example of how it’s played…or whatever

I support this!

awesome idea!

Great idea OP!

lol, all these guys saying “great idea”…

its a GOOD idea.

THIS.

It can have mah babies.

why isn’t this in halo: reach already?

this should definitely be implemented into halo 4.

so much win.

ZOMG WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT!??!?!
