It’s not that Halo wasn’t/isn’t good enough as is, it’s just for me and many others, without MLG it’s not Halo.
Without a VISIBLE ranking system it’s not halo. For me, in my opinion. I love competition, and I love trying to oust others.
To what end is this passion without a proper place and setting to set it forth?
I hope that MLG can strike a deal with Microsoft whom is in contract with -Yoink!- Gaming at the moment. According to the MLG founder time is nigh, and without Microsoft and 343’s help they can’t place Halo 4 on the circuit, and I believe that means no playlist.
343 has expressed interest in MLG, but Microsoft has not.
I hope that 343 realizes that even though it may be considered a minority, many players would be missing something held dearly prior. Competition they can enjoy. This is referring to a VISIBLE ranking system.
Before you say it, yes I am a Tryhard, and proud of it.
I don’t agree with your opinion on the current Halo franchise and its existence without MLG (namely, that it “isn’t Halo” anymore) but I do think that it should stay. MLG was an amazing outlet for competitive players who seek recognition.

Fair enough. For me, I must emphasize and once again for many others, it just won’t be the same without MLG. I was looking for this playlist and the sacred update to hook me back in, but now I am unsure.

Just get out, go play for exp and unlock some pointless armor or w.e
You clueless monkey!

lol not only are you ignorant, i think you might be lacking some brain tissue as well. Lets clear things up for you bud, victory and defeat in this game mean little to nothing when everyone gets pretty much the same amount of exp.
hopefully your mindless rambling will end there… but just in case you want to comment again, ill assume it will be another ignorant thoughtless post, so i’ll get a head start on you.
Peoples motives are different in the game, mainly its to unlock things and achieve some sort of feat. whether it be a visor, armor, specialization, campaign, and yes, even rank fits in this description. So just stop with your pitiful and disgraceful severely one sided comments alright buddy? Your just making yourself look bad at this point

well i’ve come across some " mentally challenged " people on the forums but this dude is in a league of his own.
I feel like I’ve been one of the few people supporting Halo 4 and what 343i has been doing and (hopefully) been fixing, but if they don’t support Halo 4 being on the MLG circuit that’s a huge slap in the face to the competitive community as a whole (and no I’m not the usual competitive vs. casual whiner, I really like Halo 4 save for a few tweaks I’d like to see but I digress). MLG promotes the game via Youtube montages and livestreams, gives us icons such as the Ogre twins, Walshy, Tsquared, snip3down, Ninja, Kampy, Final Boss and Carbon teams etc. I LOVE watching MLG matches, it really helps you improve your game and learn how to play strategically and communicate with your team as well as being entertaining. 2008 Str8 Rippin’ were my idols back in the heyday of Halo 3 and they helped me become a better Halo player. It gives truly gifted players the chance to excel and be recognized beyond pub stomping. Halo is an MLG staple, without it…I just don’t even know. Its like finding out your favorite football team isn’t in the NFL anymore. Just disheartening.
343i, you didn’t give us Ranked, I know you’re adding it in January but its still only visible on Waypoint. You didn’t give us a skill based progression system, but an exp based one where you can hit level cap without even stepping foot in War Games. I don’t know if that was your decision or Microsoft’s, but the competitive scene is dying. I’m no MLG pro or some godly random, I’m not a low self-esteem 15 year old that needs a number next to my name to validate myself, but I like competition. I like the feeling of a well earned victory through team dynamics and well played personal performance. I like climbing the ladder to be the best. Halo needs MLG and MLG needs Halo, period. In the name of all that is Halo, you NEED to get the point across that Halo 4 not being in the MLG circuit will destroy the remaining shreds of competitive players Halo 4 has left, the ones who will advertise your game and keep it alive for the next 3 years. Don’t kill my favorite franchise, because in the end, its not only the players that pay the price, but you as well.

Oh so I should be happy with a previous game results that only appears to me for a short time?

Well put sir, it feels like we are on the same page here. I could almost add this onto my post.
i love how people are not looking at both sides of the coin in this only backing MLG when not all the details are out there.
MLG could still run halo 4 if it wanted too, they are just choosing to place the blame on microsoft instead of themselves to save face. Serves them right for raping the game play into there own vision of halo.
MLG did hold CE tournaments. Halo was always Halo, but MLG made the competitive side of Halo popular. Halo also made MLG what it is today.
Back to the main post. I do think that Microsoft seriously needs to be aware of their Halo community. -Yoink!- Infinity Challenge is a complete joke that just rewards the person who has no life instead of skill. Even if the MLG community doesn’t make up a large part of the overall Halo community, it should still be given its respect. The MLG players/fans promote and support Halo so much. Saying “oh well the MLG community is so small and we should focus on the casual community instead” is just unfair. Focus on both…its possible…it’s been done in the past. Microsoft needs to get off this -Yoink!- Gaming crap and give support to tournaments that really matter.
I feel like this is just what happens when you have an industry as big as Microsoft calling the shots. They probably don’t “get down in the trenches” and really see what’s going on. They probably just see numbers or what seem like good ideas on paper.
