The animosity here is cause halo fans are some of the most franchise dedicated individuals. Halo 4 was iffy, halo 5 flopped hard, we waited 6 years to be handed a reskin of halo 4 basically…… with less customization, worse progression, and a mountain of other issues.
There’s going to be noise and a lot of hate towards 343…….I doubt it will change there mind……but if they don’t fix it, the game will die and the franchise will go with it. They cannot afford another halo game to flop yet here they are about to fail again. And us dedicated halo fans would hate to see it cause a lot of us have been around since day 1 and love the story and dynamics of halo.
It’s my opinion from a Halo Vet. I think Halo 5 is the worst Halo. Regarding Story, MP and art style. That’s just me… Halo Infinite blows it out of the water and more.
they arent, simple as that, the lacking gameplay, predatory system and overall poor experience are here because people designed it that way and other people approved it
Let’s be real here, this bata was a cash grab, and for 343 to use the excuse that it cost money to run things knowing the way they handled it? No! I don’t agree we need to be light on them knowing they have professionals to set this system up as poorly as it actually is.
I do agree that the hate needs to stop, but to just accept them trying to use their player as a cow? Hell no! this is not a true free-to-play game, it’s a free-to-play MP and nothing else.
It is pure BS what 343/Microsft has actually done, and will continue to do because you guys will continue to contribute to this by buying the battle passes, and things will only get worse. Just like what happened with Destiny, that was ruined because of the shop that became more important than creating a decent game.
The subreddit was locked because they started to DOX the devs.
Not because of insulting the devs. Not because of criticism.
So? It’s the entertainment industry. You can spend 30 million on a movie and work on in for 2 years but if the final product sucks people have the right to say that the filmmakers suck at their jobs. People are allowed to pick apart the product they got and say how much it blows or how great it is.
This post is very one-sided, and I’d just like to point out there is enough s*** to go around, even on these forums. This was posted by the moderator at r/Halo when the forum was temporarily shutdown. There had been death threats and doxxing, and idk who did these (I’d guess it’s the critics doing this), what this forum post tells me is that it was not just the critics of the game being toxic. It was both sides.
“The primary thing the mod team cares about is limiting insults and toxicity, because it makes it impossible to have actual conversation. This cuts both ways whether you are happy or unhappy with the game as-is. Someone criticizing the game doesn’t mean you get to say they’re an “entitled crybaby manchild”. Someone saying they’re fine with the game or to give it some time doesn’t mean you can call them a “bootlicking dicksucker”. All of these are things the mod team has dealt with and will continue to deal with”
Its only a “cash grab” if you want it to be for yourself… It’s 100% free to play… I don’t understand the logic here. You don’t have to buy anything and it does nothing regarding how to play “gameplay”…
Sure they should fix the progression system but man you are only spending money that you want to spend… 343 is not holding a gun to your head to say buy it…
Of course death threats are too far, but these devs are absolutely shameful. They clearly dislike the loyal fans and don’t actually care about delivering a decent product. They’ve screwed up twice, and now a third time. I cannot comprehend how 343i have still got the rights to produce these games. It’s mind boggling.
It’s not a beta. It’s the final build that we’re going to get on 12/8. There will be no playlist changes to speak of on launch day. They screwed up big-time.
They made it F2P because they think it will make more money that way, which is fine, but the community needs to stop acting like it was done out of the kindness of their hearts.
It’s a proven way to generate more revenue. Poor people being able to play for free is a great side effect of an interactive store, it was never the goal though.
Monetization is in place to make truckloads of money. Not because they need to pay for something they released for free.
