I’m all for forge, but there are a lot of gamers out there that don’t play multiplayer. Making multiplayer maps is kind of pointless to attract that kind of player in large amount, new or old. Campaign co-op helps scratch that itch, but it’s not enough. There’s a huge player base for co-op. If you consider the OG ODST Firefight fans that liked the tougher/survival style. The Reach Firefight that likes the more laidback Arcade style. Also, the escalation bullet sponge H5 style. If you lump them into one Firefighter group that’s a lot of players.
You could add in all the players that are into Campaign co-op like Destiny strikes/raids. Left 4 Dead co-op survival runs. Gears horde modes, or COD zombies.
The point I’m trying to make is Forge will help expand the lack of MP maps 343 has delivered and I’m super grateful for that. However, Halo will still leave out a huge customer base, unless the next project is a co-op experience. Late season 3 or early season 4.
Co-op campaign I feel just won’t cut it. Its gotta hit a few strong notes, strikey, survivally, bossy, raidy, with both run-n-gun and holdout missions. Forgeable Firefight would rock with the right options both small scale 4 player and large scale 12 plus players.
