I’m loving halo right now. Full day sessions jumping between BTB, warzone and slayer is great fun. This is the most fun I’ve had in halo since the halo 2/3 days, especially with the slew of new maps we have now. It’s a joy to mess around on the valhalla remake.
There;s a consistant population of really good players playing the game again. I constantly have matches in which I have intense pistol/br duels with the best player of the opposing team. With strafing/dodging now being a legit tactic again, pistol duels are loads of fun.
All in all - glad to see halo back on form (imo). As maligned as the game is, there is a core population of good players that keep it worth playing.
In my mid twenties so halo 3 hit me in prime puberty and a memorable part of my life but that’s the reason it holds a place in my heart.
That being said I’m a working 8-5 man about to have a wife and have a dog. The exciting days have past and I’m glad halo 5 is here and is such a great game. The very same guys that got together in my hometown to couch multiplayer halo 3 now party up from all over the US and play this game. This alone holds a bigger place in my heart than halo 3. I’m getting to communicate with friends and family over a shared past time of ours almost a decade later.
Halo 3 - Stole my teenage years
Halo Reach - Was good but no halo 3
Halo 4 - Just couldn’t get into it and went to PC gaming
Halo 5 - I saw it first at Eurogamer without touching any halo game for years and I don’t know what but something triggered the teenager me. I didn’t even play it but just watching it I knew I needed to get it. So when the sale before Christmas came I brought myself and Xbox one and halo 5 and I haven’t looked back since. The game is just perfect and more. It feels like halo 3 but with faster gameplay (thanks to sprint and boosts), loads of unlocks and constant updates. I honestly struggle to see the hate towards this more than overdue perfect halo game!
I love it. I still play every game in the MCC and Reach (though not as much as Halo 5), so a lot of the “this game should be more like Halo X” kinda annoys me because the reason I like playing all of the games now is for the differences. I mean, what would be the point otherwise? I’m a fan of Halo 4 because it’s different. Admittedly, it’s a bit too different for Halo and I’m glad they’ve reined it in with Halo 5, but Halo 4 is still fun as hell. Same with Reach.
If you guys haven’t taken an evening to fire up the MCC and play 2 slayer matches in CE, then Halo 2, then H2A, then Halo 3, then Halo 4, then fire up Reach for 2 matches, then fire up Halo 5 to get the full 15 year Halo experience in one sitting, I highly recommend it. It really puts the whole franchise and its changes in perspective.
But anyway, not sure why I started talking about all that … oh yeah: I’m not only addicted to Halo 5: I’m addicted to Halo, and it’s good.I’m glad we have all the games on the Xbox One now.

Halo is really great, and I’m glad that there are enough players that help to keep it so enjoyable.
Definitely my favorite online multiplayer of all the Halos. (But nothing will compare to the golden days of 16 player LAN parties. On a related note, I REALLY hope they bring split screen back for Halo 6, removing that was a terrible decision and not worth 60 fps at all IMO.)
I should play other games in my back log, but I keep going back to Halo 5. So much fun. I miss split screen guests though. It would be fun to have more cannon fodder in BTB games like back in the day.

It does have a good amount of content compared to other games been realised
