I’m a bit disappointed that there’re only 15 missions in Halo 5 campaign. I expected more like 18 to 20 missions when 343 announced it would be twice as big as Halo 4.
What do you guys think?
They might be 15 really long missions. Halo4 was a cakewalk in terms of blasting through levels in record time. Something tells me you’ll be hard-pressed to do the whole “campaign in under 3 hours” thing that MCC was touting.

And technically, it is almost twice as long as H4, H4 was only 8 missions
From what I have seen in other threads is that this is based off of ‘normal’ difficulty, which by now we all know to be pretty easy and even a ‘noob’ would be able to get through with little effort. Increase the game’s difficulty and I’m sure that the gameplay hours will increase. Also, I haven’t read the post yet, so I’m not sure what they may include to calculate the gametime. Does it include looking for all of the secrets, such as skulls and/or terminals? I’m sure that it was just a rough estimate if you wish to get through the campaign at a reasonable pace.

Yea I was able to spend an hour on each mission on legendary solo in halo 4
Halo ce had 10 missions, 4 had 8 technically, and I believe 3 and odst both had 8 playable missions as well? Halo 2 was a tad linger around 14 I think and even then you can skip a huge amount of the game if you knew how to.
Assuming all 15 are playable and not counting prologue, thats almost double most other games. And even then they said levels are massive by comparrison as well.
Length is subjective though - you can make the game last as long as want depending on how you play and what difficulty you play. Number of missions doesn’t really say much either, as there can be a lot of content to go through in each mission. Though Halo 4 had only 8 playable missions, there were usually a few different sub-sections within levels

H3 had 10. This is really a long campaign when compared to the other games, and no one complains about those.
343i came out and told us it’s 15 missions totally an average length of 8-12 hrs on Normal.
It’s 8-12hrs on Legendary first time through on Halo2.
Since some levels are quick and others are very long, ie, the Cartographer vs Assault on the Control Room, complaining about the # of levels relative to nothing is… Nothing.
